View Full Version : Having trouble changing CHMOD

Hi,

I am trying to add games and running into problems with the CHMOD.

I am using Filezilla for the FTP. When I try to change the CHMOD to 0777 it doesn't work. Instead it changes it to 777 and sometimes 644. (And thats if it changes at all, which most of the times I tried it didn't.)

I also have AceFTP and ran into the same problems with that program.

You want 777 ;)

I like FlashFXP for FTP :)

Thanks, I tried 777 and I still get this error when I click install

ERROR
/home/unlimite/public_html/forums/arcade/zip is write-protected. Please change CHMOD to 0777 via FTP.

Are you on a windows or a linux hosting account?

Thats why. You need to change to Linux. For some reason, windows won't let you CHMOD anything. I had the same issue for awhile, until my hosting company told me I had to switch to the Linux package. I wish I knew that beforehand
