Help!!!!!!

When guest register on my site, they need to validate their account via email. For some reason, If they hit view previous page without checking email, they get a pop up that they are permanently banned. Once they activate their account via email the ban is lifted.
Am I blind, am I missing something? I need help in stopping registering guest from getting banned? Any suggestions?

In the usergroup permissions for the Users Awaiting Email Confirmation group make sure that the "This Usergroup is not a 'Banned' Group" is set to Yes.
