View Full Version : Tread multi-moderation

Under 3.6.4, I wish I could have an option like I used to have in IPB which was topic multi-moderation.
I saw a hack: Thread Prefix but this is for new threads.
In my forum, in order to put (Solved) or whatever we wanna put there, I'm losing a lot of time by editing thread titles.
Why not having a system like a combo box (but with Multi-moderation in it instead of Forum Jump like in my picture, it's just an example...) in order to let us select what prefix we would like to add in front of the thread title? This could be controlled via the admincp and letting us define what prefix we would like to get and also what actions to do afterwards like closing the thread remove/add the sticky, etc.
Just a suggestion but something that I would really like to get.

Nobody wants to make this? However, how come I saw many requests for such feature but no one made it?

Nah, I know about this one and besides the fact it's a great hack, this does not fits my needs.
I don't want to use a thread prefix when starting a thread but afterwards, when a thread is created.
Let's say a thread's question is solved. Well, I'd like to have an option in order to allow me to add a prefix (Solved) in the thread's title, just by looking at the forum or thread itself.
Also, I don't want to have an extra column in the forum display as this would only affects the thread title.
Do you get the picture?
Since nobody looks interested in making this one in this section, I'm ready to pay for this one, Anyone interested? Therefore you could move this thread in the proper section if you want.

Since nobody looks interested
I would assume(judging by the replies above) that is because no one has had a chance to understand what you are requesting.

Wow! What do you want me to do, write a novel to explain it? :)
I think the picture in my first post along with what I wrote is clear enough.

I understand, a small(ish) modification to the thread prefixes hack should do it. You don't have to have an extra column, you'd just leave out the table cell part of the template edit.

I was trying to emphasis that once you replied to Princeton you jumped to the conclusion no one would do this, but it seemed your orignal post was not well understood. However the follow up post was but you did not give any one a chance to review this before jumping to the conclusion no one would.

I'm just looking for help, I don't want to jump to any conclusion. Sorry if I'm not well understood here. As English is not my first language, I just tried to explain in details what I needed.
Now, is it well understood of do I need to shoot some more picture in order to really explain this deeply?

Hi there,
I understand exactly where you're coming from and after a few days without this (I converted a forum from IPB 2.2.2 to the latest vB release just recently), I am missing the function considerably.
A good description of the 'IPB Topic Multi-Moderation' is this:
"With multi-moderation you can add options that let you close a topic, move a topic, and add a reply with a click of a button. You can also add prefixes to topics with this".
Above is not my description.
Before I converted, in IPB I had about 10 'Topic Multi-Moderation' instances set up and the convenience of doing this from the 'front end' is brilliant - I am very surprised that vB doesn't have a comparable feature.
Is anyone able to make a customised mod/hack to acommodate this? :) Thanks.
