->Invitation System > Allow the option of registration by invite only with usergroup permissions.

Can you please explain that what is the main difference between Psionic Vision's "Invites System" and this "Invitation System" of yours?

I would love to use this hack, please you include some more features just like..

Invite Expiration Period
Per-usergroup invite usage restriction.
User's invites Qty (in User Group Settings), and admins can manually edit any user groups's invite count
Ability to "delete" any invitation in "Previous Invites" box
Ability to "Re-send" invitation in "Previous Invites" boxThats all.. i would love to see in this Invitation System.

I am admin so you figure lol, as soon as the product is disabled then all is well again

Would be cool if people could still register normally, but have this system, so people can email their friends, and invite them to the site. that would be really nice, and the invite code would include a user referrer code, so when they sign up, it shows up who referred them.

i think when one invite not working its from your cookie settings :confused:

I need this system for members to invite but also be able to let members register without the invitations as well.....

Imagine an admin invitation system or namely a registration code generator that when a user enters a predefined code at registration, they're automatically added to a set secondary user group, say for private forum access.

Think of a shopping cart coupon code that automatically applies discounts.

First, I want to say thanks to the maker of this hack. This is awesome one!
But, I would like to see these feautures added, and some more, just like:

Limit users invitations by usergroup(so admins have unlimited invites, other groups have X invitations)
Give X invitations to users in specified usergroup per time period.

Except I have to warn you - that is a script by a 3rd party (http://www.addressbookimport.com/main/). These 3rd parties all sell the same script that does not work correctly and that is highly insecure. If you want something that truly works, you might want to check out vS-Invites System...

i love this hack but can i request that you add the feature to turn the original registration system on and off so admins can get both registraions throught normal traffic and through invites??? with the option to turn the normal system off....

This mod would be awesome if the regular registration form was left open. Another feature I thought of was the ability of already registered members to send out invites, and the admin can see via the admincp who has accepted, who hasn't, who sent the invite and the message sent etc. The user who sent the invite shouldn't be able to see any of the above information.

If I could code, I would make an invite system like what I have describe above.

That said, nice work Mr_Snob. Hopefully we will see more features built into this as time goes on.

great modification, but it still lacks some important features, if you could incorporate them in the newer version, it would be great.

- set amount of invitations per usergroup
- if invitation is overdue it shouldn't be lost but it should be recounted back in a users total invitations left.
- and many others...

it has still to improve a lot to catch up to the psionic's version...
but thx for all the hard work sofar!!

Does not work. When users click on the invite email received, it still keeps giving messages that a invite is needed.

What a junk mod ! Apart from grammatically wrong messages :-), people are complaining it still keeps giving invite message even when clicked on invite link.

For people with "Your invite is either not valid or has already been used." error message:

Technical reason: the invitationcode field in the table invites in your database has length at most 20 characters, whereas the one being sent to users has 32 characters. What happens is usually the invitation token (with 32 chars) generated randomly will be sent to users (in the invitation link), although only the first 20 characters of this token is gonna be stored in the database. When users click on their link, the system basically lookup in the invites table to see if there is any match, but it clearly fails.

Solution:
1. If you have already installed the system, simply go to your invites table (using myphpadmin or any similar database management tool), and change the length of the invitationcode field in the invites table to 32. Notice that this invites table might have prefix (chosen by you at installtion), therefore just look for any table that ends with invites.

After that any new invitations should work. You can delete all previous records in the invites table if you wish.

2. If you haven't installed the system (or want to uninstall your system and reinstall it) then:

First, open product-invitation.xml and find

$db->query_write("CREATE TABLE ". TABLE_PREFIX ."invites (
invitecode varchar(20) NOT NULL default '',

then change 20 to 32.

Then install the system as normal. It should work (tested on vbb 3.6.8 patch level 2).
