8 players in a tournament, match 2 both played and both advanced to next level yet both say eliminated. how can this happen when only the winner should advance to next level

* Bump *

:) Sorry for the bump, but is this problem known? Are there other people who have this problem?

Thanks,
Kris

thought this was a support section, not seen any so far for this problem, not even MrZeropage posting to say he's looking into it.
does anyone have any idea why this has happened since the upgrade to latest version

I did not saw this before in tournaments on any of my forums, but ok - I have no idea how this could happen, just some things that come to my mind:

- users reload their browser for multiple submit of their score
- users do not finish their game properly and close browser before/while score is sent

do you have auto-reminder and -disqualificaiotn enabled ?
does this happen to all tournaments or just 1 out of 100 ?

It is possible that the users don't finish their game or close their browser, but isn't it possible then to send a 0 score or something? Some of my players have a age of 50+ sow they don't know always how to use it, you see.

Yes, I have auto-reminder and -disqualificaiotn enabled.

It mostly happens with a tournament with more then 4 players.

Kris

Totally same with me. We had 3 tournaments up to now and this happened twice.

but isn't it possible then to send a 0 score or something?no, as the procedure is like this:

you click "play game" in tournament, then the counter of tries increases by one. then you can play and if the game itself (yes, it's the game, not the arcade!) submits a result then, it is counted to that tournament-match. if you close your browser, reload the page or do anything unexpected, it could/will ruin that match.
Main problem is that only if a game provides a valid score from a tournament-game all those routines for advancing, eleminating ect. are running, that's why sometimes (in case the last result in a match is not properly saved) you need to manually advance the winner...

another problem is a user that reloads a page several times for any reason, like the "register for a tournament" page... that could possibly cause such faults.

As told before, I really never noticed something like that on the forums I technically administer

Hmmm I see..

Isn't it possible than, that when the database didn't received a score after ie 2 hours, the score will be set to zero? Maby due to a cron job or something.

Just a idea.

but what would cause a player to jump from match 2 area to match 1 as in my screenshot

maybe there should be an option for admin to be able to edit the tournament to put right any errors so that the players can continue
