2500 dead emails

Hi:
with the mail verifier program I clean up my forum mailing list and to my horror I figure out there is 2500 dead emails out of 6000 members.

what do you think is there any opportunity to delete all this members with the bad emails?

I'd try to send a mass pm to the users asking them to make sure that their email address are updated and current. give them a week or two, after that delete them
