is there a hack so that i can make a forum and only members with a certain amount of posts/refferals can view it?

You can set a forum up that requires a certain amount of posts to see it by using permissions with a new usergroup and a promotion to move users into that user group when they have got x posts.

anyway youcould brake this down for me and maybe archive it for further users

as im not sure of all the ins and outs

Usergroups > Add New Usergroup > Select Registered Users in the top dropdown and click GO

Rename the usergroup to something like Registered Users - Approved and click save.

(Doing it this way makes it inherit all the permissions so you don't have to set them all up again)

Then rename your registered users usergroup to Registered Users - Not Approved and change Follow Forum Moderation Rules to NO by going to

Usergroups > Usergroup Manager > Registered Users > Edit

Finally create a promotion to move users from one user group to the other by going to

Usergroups > Promotions > Add New Promotion

Set the top usergroup list to Registered Users - Not Approved
Enter 1 in the posts box
Set Promotion Strategy to Posts
Set Promotion Type to Primary Usergroup
Set the bottom usergroup to Registered Users - Approved

Click Save

Finally, to move all users with more than one post already into the new usergroup without waiting for the scheduled task to run, do this

Scheduled Tasks > Scheduled Task Manager > User Promotions > Run Now

OK SO HOW ALL MY SUERS ARE IN MY APPROVED SECTION?

I think i no what ive done wrong but how do i move them all back into not approved?

Make sure that your promotion is set to posts only.

Then you can moved all users with 0 posts back to the not approved group by going to

Users > Prune/Move

Delete the number from the days registered box
Enter 1 into the postcount box

Click find

on the next page, click the select all box at the top of the page and then scroll to the bottom. Select MOVE and then chose the not approved group and click go.

This will move all users with less than 1 post (ie no posts) back to the unapproved group
