You needn't to set anything. Just import the plugin and upload the other xml file to includes/xml. And go to AdminCP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> Select the usergroup and the setting for post is there.

i hate hacks for things that can be done via default vB settings. why risk screwing up someones forums with DB changes when they're not needed? too much risk IMO.

I can't find it there, I did everything the author said to do :\ running 3.6.4 here

Because some user requested it and after some arguement, the user still refuses to use promotions. So I created a hack that does it.

Ok, if the settings don't show up in your options. Rebuild your bifields by going to:
YOURFORUMPATH/admincp/index.php?do=buildbitfields , then go back to the options, they should be there now.

Not necessarily stupid. More like, his opinion?
Then again some often quickly resort to name calling when faced with insurmountable logic. Sad.

Adding a field in a MySQL table (what this hack does) uses less memory than adding a whole row (promotions) :).

I have a quick question before I install this...
When a member hits the set number of posts, and becomes eligable to create his own custom title etc...
Does he get notified of his new feature via an instant PM or e-mail?

i did the bitfield rebuild and still no go it is not showing up any ideas? would a custom template stop this? can you give me the actual template edit and i can try to add it myself I can not figure promotions out anyways so the hack would be simpler if it works

It doesn't do any templates edits...Usergroups Manager > Select A Group > Find The Option.

I have a custom template, and I cannot see the option appear under "Edit Profile" in the UserCP.
If there is no template edit, how is the option supposed to appear? It does not show on my forum.

Oooops, in the Usergroup setting, had to set the "Allow users to use custom title" back to Yes.
DOH!
Works fine. Thanks!
