Ok, maybe you should change the title a bit. From reading the title as is, I believed it to be a report system for the private messaging system. That would have been useful.

Yes but you have to remove the executionorder="5" from plugin code.

1. I have a hack installed that will post the reported thread in a deisgned forum
can I use this hack in conjunction of that hack?

2. Also will this work with vb 3.5.3 ?

It's not that it doesn't work, it's just that you aren't getting the pms, one of your moderators are. That is why i am asking for a way to make it so that admins will recieve the emails as well / instead of the mods.

I don't even see a link to report the posts though...as much as that makes sense in a way....I have no way to test if its working without using a bogus account and sending it a PM

Well from what I see the plugin to SEND the e-mail is ok....but the plugin to report the PM itself is not.....I don't see any plugin on the PM System hooks at all for this product

It's still messed up severely...

It claims the array in includes/class_dm.php isn't empty and the Report PM needs a title when there is no inputbox for a title.

More specifically:

Fatal error:

* Please complete both the subject and message fields.

Umm... I think some users (mthornback etc) in this thread are confused.

This hack enables *post reports* to be sent as PM's, right?

I think some think that this somehow allows users to report PM's to moderators.

The problem is that the code is in the wrong hook.

The hook for the plugin needs to be changed to report_send_complete

It's trying to send the PM before the code has defined what $message and $subject is!

Keep in mind, changing it to this hook location will send the PM correctly, however, it will also send an email.

Unsure if the desire is to remove the reporting emails or not.

EDIT - ah bugger... my fix works to send the pm... but the email is all screwy because it has bbcode in it :)
I'll keep fiddling with it and see if I can help out ziki :)

Ziki, may I have your permission to post a fix? This will send a PM and an email.

The biggest problem people will have in switchin is that instead of creating new phrases... you overwrote default phrases. So when people uninstall your product, they will LOSE the phrases that enable the email report system.

The zip I'll upload will readd the default phrases as well as add new phrases for your code.

The only way I can figure out how to stop the email from sending is with a code edit.

Do you know how to do it with a plugin?


Here's an updated zip that works without bugs, just sends an email AND a pm.


I updated the version in the xml to 1.0.3 too, so as to avoid confusion :)

In forums in which I have more than one moderator, it appears only one mod gets a PM (the rest get emails, as I have the no-email hook disabled). :(

Yes because this hack rewrites the original report phrases so they have to be added manually.There is nothing I can do about that.

Installed. However, since I follow the plugin from its early state it just won't send a PM. Good thing is that Cyricx's xml in the zip file fixed the way emails were sent since it got messed up in the early state (it was using BB Code).
I hope in a new release of that plugin, it'd be really good to see.

in local server this hack work perfectly

but in my site not work correctly;
in fact when I enter "Username" (If there is no moderator in that forum it will send to this user.Enter here the username) username:x then change user name to y
not effect; in othere words send again to x username
something like cache

Installed - just what i was looking for

A very handy feature to have, you could perhaps add a feature for the next version where the reported pm gets posted in a specified forum, IE a staff forum, would be usefull also.
