Basically, I would really like something that could let you type in a alert in the admin cp for members that displays if one or more certain conditions are met.
Example of some possible conditions:
They've never made a post
Never made a post in a specific forum
Haven't made a post in the past X days
No more than X other alerts are showing
It's a certain date
They have a new PM
They have never sent anyone a PM
They never responded to their activation email
They have more than, or less than, a certain number of posts
They haven't viewed a certain thread yet.
They've never altered their profile
They haven't changed their time zone from defaultObviously, some of those are a bit elaborate and not all would be needed, but you get the idea.
Next to each alert, there would be a "Dismiss" link - when someone clicked it, they would never see that specific alert ever again.
I'm envisioning it would look (graphically) like a colored box at the top of the screen, just under the navbar... but it would be editable via templates.
There are a lot of uses for this. You could remind them about a contest the forum is running. You could tell them about new private messages. You could wish them a happy holidays. You could remind them to refer their friends. Based on which features they have and haven't used, you could explain how to use certain things (I'm thinking of a 'Did you know,' small description, and link to more information, for this).
