phorum to vbulletin converter

hi gang..
I see a few posts where people have been asking for phorum converters.
I would really like to see one of these so I can move my two phorum boards
over to vbulletin.
I have a lot of posts that i need to keep.
if someone has something that will just
bring over the post, the poster and email and the date
and give a list of emails..
i can then change over ..email to the list telling them about the change..

phorum doesnt have a user system so It might be impossible

I don't think it's impossible..

each post has
Author, message, date, time
all of my posts have emails..
so the converter has to take the email or author
and make the user/password
so if email is me@yahoo.com
the user pass is
me@yahoo.com/me@yahoo.com
so if the program will give a list (ie..email.txt)
me@yahoo.com
me@yahoo.com
me@yahoo.com
me@yahoo.com
I can email them to come in and change the
user/pass to what they want.

I've just completed a move from phorum 2.1.x to vbulletin 2.0... Here's a copy of the script I used to move over the existing phorum posts. This makes everyone appear as "guests" that posted on phorum prior to the move.

It also currently cleans out all posts in the vbulletin forum it's importing into, but the script could be easily modified to not do this.

It also doesn't even try to convert the Hostname in phorum to an IP address. In practice, with 80,000+ posts, it just took too dang long to do all those DNS lookups. :) The code to do the lookups in is the script, just disabled at the moment.

Anyway, the script is available for anyone to mess around with/use as a starting point.
