Problem with external registration

Hi, i have a question concerning a script i wrote for my website, for users to register from outside the forum. The outcome of the script was that it successfully created the user I've registered (for testing) but the problem is that, the user created belongs to usergroup "Registered" but when i view his info from admincp, it says that is a COPPA user. Do you think is because i am forgetting something to ask on registration and therefore users who register via the external registration are COPPA.

Do you have COPPA registration enabled in Admin CP?

If so try to disable that and try the process again from the start

nope. The weird thing is that i've disabled COPPA users completely.
