email sent when thread is replied to

how would i get vbulletin to send an email to notify a person when there thread has been replied to.

That's thread subscriptions. To subscribe to a thread, select the "Thread Tools" drop-down menu in a thread and click "Subscribe to this thread".

is there a way i can get that done automatically for threads they've started...because users might be unaware of this feature or unwilling to go through all of it.
