Please don't use this hack with Time Spent On Board (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=133059) from tnguy3n!

My hack doesn't need any code changes. :)

The capture function doesn't need any extra query!

Description:
This hack adds to the profile:
- the time a user spend on board,
- the count of days a user spend on board,
- the average time he spent a day he has visited (time/day)
- and it shows when it was installed. The date and time is automatically added into the phrase.
More features:
- When you want you can activate the postbit indicator.
- A Statistic site:
- - Shows the time/days spent on board of all users.
- - Top Ten of the user how had spent the most time on board.
- - User sees her own place.
- When an user is invisible only user can see her time which have the rigt to see invisible users.

The time/days capturing starts with the installation. It is not possible to get any time befor the installation, it can't look in the past. :)

Sorry for the German screenshot!

hurik very nice thank you... only thing that would be nice i can suggest is maybe wrap the member info in a conditional this way if you do for some reason shut the product down in admincp it will also remove the code from the profile too if not its left there empty.

And some feature request:

Add a "time spent on the board today" field to users and display somewhere at the bottom of the forum homepage users that spent most time on the forum today. It would be possible then to integrate this data with Members who have visited Today (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=121883) or Cyb - Advanced Forum Statistics (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=122986) or similar mods.

Interesting. Dumb question (probably): does it count from the moment of install or is the time spent online value already kept in vB?

no, time capturing starts with the installation of the hack. but the hack shows when it was installed.

everything seems to be working except postbit_legacy

I have the following code:

<div class="smallfont">
&nbsp;<br />
<if condition="$post['joindate']"><div class="pbitspacer"><div class="pbit" align="left">$vbphrase[join_date]: $post[joindate]</div></div></if>
<if condition="$post['field2']"><div class="pbitspacer"><div class="pbit" align="left">$vbphrase[location_perm]: $post[field2]</div></div></if>
<if condition="$post['age']"><div class="pbitspacer"><div class="pbit" align="left">$vbphrase[age]: $post[age]</div></div></if>

<div class="pbitspacer"><div class="pbit" align="left">

<if condition="$show['infraction']"><div class="pbitspacer"><div class="pbit" align="left">$vbphrase[infractions]: $post[warnings]/$post[infractions] ($post[ipoints])</div></div></if>

I have tried to stick it every sort of way & every combination. It shows up under my member profile just fine. Wouldn't you want to add it above $vbphrase[posts]: $post[posts] anyways? Also I have an extra /div in there for some reason. Thanks.

Umm I have enabled it in my options and it still doesn't display for me. I have everything correct.

Also do you think you could modify it to where the usergroup permissions are in effect.. like if you have a usergroup that doesn't show its members on the member list to have it not display here unless they are an admin or moderator?

1.
Search in the postbit_legacy template for:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<div>
$vbphrase[posts]: $post[posts]
</div>
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and replace it with:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<div>
$vbphrase[posts]: $post[posts]
</div>
<if condition="$show_p_tdob">
<div>
$vbphrase[tdob_time_on_board]: <if condition="$post['timeonboard'] >= 1"><if condition="$show['timespentyears']">$timeboardspent[year] <if condition="$timeboardspent[year] == 1">$vbphrase[year]<else />$vbphrase[years]</if>, </if><if condition="$show['timespentmonths']">$timeboardspent[month] <if condition="$timeboardspent[month] == 1">$vbphrase[month]<else />$vbphrase[months]</if>, </if><if condition="$show['timespentweeks']">$timeboardspent[week] <if condition="$timeboardspent[week] == 1">$vbphrase[week]<else />$vbphrase[weeks]</if>, </if><if condition="$show['timespentdays']">$timeboardspent[day] <if condition="$timeboardspent[day] == 1">$vbphrase[day]<else />$vbphrase[days]</if> $vbphrase[tdob_and] </if>$timeboardspent[hour]:<if condition="$timeboardspent[min]<10">0$timeboardspent[min]<else />$timeboardspent[min]</if>:<if condition="$timeboardspent[sec]<10">0$timeboardspent[sec]<else />$timeboardspent[sec]</if> $vbphrase[hours]<else />$vbphrase[tdob_nodata]</if>

did you really activate the postbit display in the admin control panel? you find the option under "vBulletin Options" -> "Thread Display Options (showthread)" -> "Time/Days on board - Postbit time display" (the last option).

i have tested it on my board and on my testboard at it works fine ...

I'am a little bit confused about the calculation in the stats page.

There a 2 collumns.

The left colummn ist no problem, ther ist the counting on spent time in Hours , Minutes and seconds.

But the right colummn is confusing. I just install this a few days ago. But there is one user spend one day more on board....longer than the hack is installed.

About the values in right colummn:
Days spent one board confuse me so much. I spend now 12 Hours on board. This is correct, but also shows a handfull of days.....this is not correct.

I think everyday is added one day to this values.

Can everybody help me?

I can't make it work out of the box. The good thing is the data is stored in the database, I'll try hacking the plugin a bit, all the variables are empty even when I have "display" to on in showthread.

I added the code from the .xml template for hours/minutes/sec online to postbit_legacy, but it shows only the : and stored phrases, no data.

I've followed all that's been indicated in your instructions. Alot of other members are finding that they have the same problem. I've set only myself as invisible, all other users on my site do not have invisibility set. Yet I do not see this working IN POSTBIT. The other areas are working. I can't advise as I don't see your forum, how you entered the code, what style you use, how you setup and etc.
You can give me a url to your site and admin login, so I can help you.
Or you can try to describe your every step of setuping this mod as detailed as you can.

Having slight problem(maybe). The discrepancies here seem pretty extreme. The first quote is a low activity member, one who does not visit daily. The second quote contains my stats, an admin, who is on the site daily for hours at a time. It appears the low activity member has spent 3 more weeks on the board than I have. This is of course inaccurate.

Spent time on board: 1 Day and 19:29:40 Hours
Spent days on board: 1 Month, 2 Weeks and 6 Days
Avarage time per visited day: 0:52:11 Hours

Spent time on board: 2 Days and 17:43:12 Hours
Spent days on board: 1 Week and 1 Day
Avarage time per visited day: 8:12:54 Hours

What is the difference between Spent Time on board and Spent Days on board?

Also, what does "time per visited day" refer to? Is the hack working correctly and I'm just not understanding how the information is presented?

Thanks.

The time wasn't being displayed in my postbit either (3.6.8).

In the plugin 'Verbrachte Zeit formatieren (Postbit)' I changed the line:
if ($vbulletin->options['tdob_postbit'])

to:
if (true)

Hackish, but its's now displaying correctly.
Love this plugin by the way.

Cheers.

It's been 8 days since I installed this mod and it's showing me "Spent Time On Board: 3 min 41 sec"

Thanks.
I am having the same problem - the days are not rolling over for me - it only says one day, and I have had this hack installed for a week or so, and am on the board pretty much constantly. Also, many moderators who practically live on my board are having the same issue.

I have a problem now......

When I first installed it I selected to have the time viewed in the postbit but my members found it too distracting so I turned it off......but it's still displaying in the postbit and I don't know why??? Any suggestions?

I was wondering if there was a way to change hours to something else.
Spent time on board: 0:25:03 Hours
Spent days on board: 2 Days
Avarage time per visited day: 0:12:31 Hours

In phrase:
$vbphrase[setting_tdob_postbit_desc]

Do you want to activate the time display in the postbit?<br \><strong>Attention:</strong> When an user has visited the board very long the time display could be very long!

There is a misprint in <br \>

Must be <br />

1. I make it to show on postbit,

i change the <if condition="$show_p_tdob">
with
<if condition="$vboptions['tdob_postbit']">
but the time is 0:00: hours even after i spend some time (hours) on line

2. Is there a way to show only days on postbit (e.g. Time spent: 133,5 days)

I use this since 3.6, now i need to upgrade to 3.8.4, yes in 3.8.4 not work perfect. Postbit Display works well. The memberinfo not work. The Stats are showing without any problems.

Next i like to do is, eliminate the postbit_legacy and postbit edit. Try to use also a template hook.

For the memberinfo i change some code in 2 plugins, add one template and add the use of template hook in plugin. Now is no change needed to display in the memberinfo.

Do i need to ask the author or should i post this changes here?
