Hi all

Perhaps Im being blind, but my first request here is for something that could automaticly send a pm to a member, once their usergroup is changed. (primary).

Is it possible? does something exist? How?

Thanks for your help!

I'd also like an email sent if an additional usergroup was added, especially by way of an automatic promotion. A lot of people don't even know when they get access to extra priveledges or forums!

You mean it would PM them a welcome email? This shouldn't be hard, I'll look in to it.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, there's no hook in the save function, but I should be able to add it to the end of the pre-save function.

or email them a welcome PM ;)

I'm just interested in a notification of some sort when a user is given extra priveledges, or when they lose them. I have PMs turned off so I'm interested in an email.

Thanks Xoligy :)

Well I'll need to look at how vBulletin sends emails, but this when I have some spare time on Friday/weekend I'll see what I can do.

That sounds great.. wolfy hit the nail on the head in what i meant.. If something could be automatic when a user is upgraded, to inform them of this.. fantastic..

Thanks in advance!!

I've got the PM bit done, but I'll need more time to do the emailing and AdminCP section.

Not all users are notified when they get a PM. Some people turn it off, some boards have it off by default. The purpose of this is to get people more involved... why take the chance that they may never get the notification of a PM, unless they log in?

If the user receives an email, telling them they have been promoted, they go YAY! and come post about it or tell a friend how they did it.

It just makes more sense to send an email instead of a PM.
