vBonjour

Easy Customizable Portal System

Custom Blocks Add On

Brought to you by www.peterska2.co.uk

What is vBonjour?
vBonjour is an alternative to vBAdvanced. It is an easy to install, modular portal system designed as a gateway to your site.

Why vBonjour?
This is pretty simple really. As the front page is the first thing that your visitors see, it is a welcome page. The first few names that were thought of were either very boring, or far too long winded and not at all catchy.

What is the Custom Blocks Add On?
The Custom Blocks Add On adds two custom blocks to your vBonjour installation. Installation of this add on is very simple and expansion to the blocks using PHP is very easy using the plugins provided.

Why is it so modular?
vBonjour is extremely modular to allow for maximum customization of the page. The idea is to make it as easy as possible to install the items that you want to have included, and not have anything which you would be simply turning off. By using a modular method it means that every site can easily achieve their own custom portal without having to know any coding.

I want to add something that isn't already included. How do I go about this?
vBonjour makes use of the plugin system and includes it's own hooks. This allows easy devlopment of additional Add Ons and maximum flexability.

What about the ACP? Is it really complicated?
Unlike other systems, almost all the settings for vBonjour are collected in one setting group in the vBOptions. Because you only install what you want to use, you don't need to have lots of settings. Anything which does not use settings in the Portal settings group is highlighted in the documentation for that Add On.

Ok, so where are the screen shots?
Why have screen shots when you can have a live demo?
The demo is available at www.peterska2.co.uk

What versions of vBulletin does vBonjour work with?
vBonjour will work with vBulletin 3.6.0 and above. Support for sites running versions earlier than 3.6.0 will not be given.

What versions of vBonjour does the Custom Blocks Add On work with?
This module is currently compatible with vBonjour version 1.0.0

I hope that you like this system. Please remember to mark it as installed to recieve notification of updates and support. Support will only be provided to those who have clicked install.

Is it easy to customise the center column?

Yes, make your customizations in the PORTAL template either just above $portal_sectionheador just below$portal_articlebitand they will display in the center column correctly aligned.

You can put multiple tables in one block if they are being displayed together. If you want them displayed in different places, then I can add additional blocks to this system but I will need to know how many.

Peter is it possible to have the original forum list in the centre as opposed to the news from one specific forum?

Why not unlimited and choosable at AdminCP ?

Because the backend for that far exceeds the current system and cannot be done without altering the database which at this point is not done apart from with the Who Has Posted Today add on simply because it is a direct port of the original mod by Paul M and involves database changes.

If you can wait till tonight (I over slept so have to dash out in a min) then I have got a solution which will work with modifying some plugins.

Would like to know if this is possible too :D

That is not what this is designed for. You would need to use left and right column modifications and work with them as required to achieve that.

Yeah I wanted to add a PHP code which will display my football league table and I wondered if I can put that just above the news in the middle of the page (Center)

I have a question.
How would a person add URL links to web pages, ect in the blocks?
I may have missed something, but I was only add text to just the table background border?
