Is it possible to un-merge threads?

a moderator of my forum was tricked into giving his password out.. and the person merged many threads together..

I want to basically know if it's at all possible to UN-merge these threads?

Well... crap. A moderator on my forum tried to merge a bunch of posts from a thread into a single, newly created post. They all ended up disappearing into nothingness. That is just lovely.
