I'd like someone to try and create a post of the day for 3.5 and 3.6.
This Hack could be:
Enabled in AdminCP per forum/usergroup. Also would need to be selectable if user can vote on more than one post per day/week. Also control whether Users could vote for their own posts. It would also have to have a character limit for the actual Post of the Day/Week when it is displayed on the forumhome.
Votes would be tallied via cron at a designated time. The time would need to be set for daily, weekly, etc.
After the cron has run, votes would be tallied and the Post of the day/week would be displayed somewhere on the forumhome either under the navbar or the 'What's going on' box. This would show the Thread title (linked) and a designated amount of characters from the post. This would also reset the votes by all users to 0.
Adds a small 'Vote' button in the postbit template, appearing on each post. Maybe if you have voted for a specific post, the icon changes to a 'Voted' button.
It'd be nice to control the postbit via AJAX.
Am I asking too much?
