I use 1and1 hosting...
With the gay 100 MB SQL storage
And im starting to worry that im going to run out, what would be the best way to free up some?
Ive moved my attachments to file system if that did anything...

I have arcade scores saved to the SQL database, Im not sure how much that sucks up but any ideas?

LOL
yea thats a nice solution, as well as prune every post and thread(blank site) :hurt:

Do custom avatars store on the SQL database as well?
I wonder what else could get off the database to free up some room like I did with attachments -.-

custom avatars and profile pics are stored in the db by default although you can change them to be stored in the file system along with sig pics. Make sure you set the customavatars, customprofilepics, and signaturepics folder to 777 before changing the settings in the ACP though.

Doing that now, hope that makes a difference. Thanx for your input perterska :)

you have a while to go yet. But you should really look away from 1and1 hosting as they suck to begin with, and limiting your database size to 100mb is stupid.

Tell them to hit the road Shazz.

Get some real hosting, there are plenty of places that dont limit the MySQL size such as ASmallOrange, HostGator, Hostww just to name a few good ones.

Ive always had them since day one in the internet.
Previously it was just going to be for a blog or something lol...
But for a vB is out of its league

I don't want the hassle of moving everything over to a new server :cross-eyed:

its simple. Do they provide SSH access? If they do you can have it all moved outta there and setup on your new host in about 10 minutes :D

you can limit your users PM's
when ever I've moved databases, this takes up a Lot of room.

I was always thinking of PM's on the database
Especially if you have a welcome PM to every member on the board and don't have a auto prune PM for x days

If you think its a pain to move hosts now.

Just think how much you're going to love it in the future when you're constantly deleting members, threads and other information
