Car pool software?

Curious if anybody knows of a stand alone car pool software or one that can be added on to vBulletin - though preferrably one that does not rely on vB - considering making a carpool site for my local area.

What do you mean by carpool? It seems like a pretty specific piece of software, so I think it would require to be custom made if there isn't software out there already.

pretty much a site that people can goto to find a carpool to work. Say these 5 people live in the south side of the city - 3 work in the middle of the city and the driver and one other work in the north of the city - the 3 get dropped off in the middle and the driver and the other goto work in the north side. They all share payment for gas. So really a hub where they can connect to eachother and set up a carpool

I know this is an older thread but I am looking for the same thing. My site lists regional and national events that are held monthly and some annually. I am looking for some sort of module where users to find others in their area and set up share-a-ride car pooling and possibly hotel sharing as well. Any ideas would be appreciated. I am open to custom work within reason.
