I mean no disrespect to the past few Board of the Month winners, but I find it extremely unfair that only vBulletin related boards are winning. I don't think I've ever seen a BotM winner that hasn't been a board for vBulletin admins.

Well this is a forum mainly for vb admins, so it's not entirely surprising. However, everyone is free to vote as they please so I don't see that there is much we can do about it - feel free to post any suggestions you may have. :)

There's probably no way to fairly enforce it, and you're right - it's not surprising.
I'll think on it for a bit...
In all honesty though, what was the contest originally made for? People shouldn't vote for sites that they are active on because it's totally bias.
But surley if your active on a site you will like it and therefore consider it one of the best or simply a great board so it does make sence.

Agree.I think botm should be shut down, and instead make a hack so we can rate users/coders and then make User/Coder of the month

the only thing we can do is move the voting to the portal - which we plan to do anyway ...
the move will produce more exposure; right now, you can't even tell we have an SOTM BOTM

Agree.
Board of the Month doesn't really mean anything. MyETalk has been around for, what, a year now? It's a great site, but it's not exactly a board made this month, now, is it.
I love the coder of the month, though. You guys deserve a lot more attention, and n00bies need to know who to get hacks from. :D

We see the Board of the Month as a very great contest if implemented correctly, we are planning changes to make it more modification oriented.
What modifications are installed? Any Custom?
How do these modifications and style help the specific topic of the community?
With careful judging guidelines, the BOTM will be a very enjoyable contest.
Also, I agree that Coders deserve more for their hard work - so don't be surprised if you see some sort of Coder of the month in the future. :)

BOTM = SOTM
ive never really thought that...
I thought board as in the whole site (not just the style in general)

Yes it is the Board as the whole. I believe Joe meant SOTM as Site of the Month. The correct term is BOTM (Board of the Month.

Quote of the Month.
The polls are perfectly fair, whether or not people treat them fairly or not is quite another matter. There's nothing specified that people should judge on, although it is specified how people should try to sell their boards.

I believe votes should be private, because every vote thread I see is the same, some guy from vb.org posts his OWN board and people second that vote... I dont care whos board is it, but I do care that people help each other and so on. People instead of voting cool boards they casually find on the internet, they just vote the ones published a few posts above.
my 2 cents
