Here is my newest forum I just got up and running.
http://www.ageofantiquity.com/forum/
You could say it is the polar opposite of my other site, Space Buffs, that some of you have seen. It really isn't done...I don't think anyway. I've been working on it for several hours a day the past week, and I'm sort of exhausted with it right now. I'll need to look at it some more tomorrow when I'm fresh. The frontpage definitely isn't done, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and get some feedback on the forum itself.
It's much more heavy on the graphics than normal for me, but I wanted the site to have a very natural feel to it, which meant adding texture pretty much everywhere. My only fear is that this will result in the site being somewhat difficult to read for folks who're color blind or have other vision problems. We'll see, though.
This is also my first site that I used a good deal of hand drawn graphics. I figured I'd better start getting my money's worth out of my Intuos3 tablet. lol
Feedback and criticism welcome! :)

Very Nice! I liked it! Clean, very readable, good use of color and graphics.

Good deal. Thanks you two! I've better optimized the graphics for quicker load times, and did some further minor tweaking.

I'd also appreciate it if you all looked over the whole site. I've experimented with some different design techniques that I haven't done before, and hope they worked out well. Hell, bonus appreciate-points if you take the time to sign up and look at the buttons 'n' stuff. :p

Yet another excellent style SmashinYoungMan. The only thing I can see wrong is that you are still using the default vbulletin threadmarkers. Change those and you have yet another flawless style.
Very nice work.

Very nice as usual. I voted for seconded it at vB.com. I just want to ask what different design techniques you've used as I don't see a difference in the design approach than that of SpaceBuffs?
The imagery artwork, however, is really fabulous & outstanding, especially the left-aligned images next to forum titles. :)

Thanks as always, Shelley! I took your advice this time and made some custom thread markers straight away, instead of putting it off like I did with Spacebuffs.

Many thanks, simsimt!
To answer your question, it was mostly small things I experimented with like the fieldset, legend, buttons and panels. The basic layout is similar to SpaceBuffs, quite true.

Excellent. A vast improvement. Normally, the tiny things will go unnoticed but to the trained eye it's always a breathe of fresh air to see everything customized.
The threadmarkers compliment the style nicely. ;)

Very nice graphic work. Love the buttons. Nice job. Only thing I can pick at is that it goes off the screen if somebody is on 800x600.
SmashingYoungMan designed 4 beautiful forum templates for me, and my members were overwhelmed.
I'd certainly recommoned his talents to anyone seeking new site templates.
He is also a pleasure to work with, and was very responsive thoughout the entire process, from design to importing the templates into my forum.
Sorry if this plug is in the wrong place.
Great work SYM!
