Adbrite install, where?

Hi there,
I signed up with adbrite and they gave a bit of HTML to put on my forum, I just don't know where I am suppose to put it.
I am very new to this, I took over the forum when the original owner decided he'd had enough so I am very much learning as I go.
Adbrite said what they give is HTML but the board as I understand it is PHP, how does this work?

that depends on where you want to put the ad

for top right where looks like you tried to put it edit header

find: <td align="$stylevar[right]">

under add:

how about this, where do i put the 2 little snippets of code for the adbrite inline ads (ads that are linked from text in the posts)
