Now if I submit my reply without entering in a title within the tags, it does not display the video.

I am having this particular problem, & although you've replied to it; it didn't really address how to fix this issue.

Perhaps you or the plugin forgot to add in the custom BB code for YouTube Video with No Title, such as the Google's Google Video with No Title BB code. So posting a youtube video without title will not display.

EDIT: Did a complete uninstall and reinstall, now missing custom bb code is added. Not sure why it didn't have it in the first place, so please disregard this post.

This is great but you should consider adding something like this:
Add this to the <tr> where the flash object is in.

style="display: none"

and add this just after that one (that with flash object)

I tested it on FF2.0 and IE7 and this works good. Don't know if it works on IE6 yet, because I don't have it anymore. Opera should be fine.

I checked this on FF with Temper Data extension (shows requests that are made by FF) and the flash is not loaded when it is not displayed (display: none) and loads just after clicking on the predefined text. I know that not everyone will want that change so maybe you could add this as an alternative version? This would save users some bandwidth when they open thread with many videos (not everybody wants to watch all the videos).

Oh and one more thing. I think that using opaque wmode in flash is slightly faster than transparent (it doesn't need to check if flash has transparent parts). This still works like transparent in context of dynamic html (works well with z-index).

Sadly the embed code has nothing in common with the URL in your address bar, so it makes it rather hard for the average user.

Great work, but you need to make this more aware of vBulletin's NOPARSE bbCode.

I've noticed from your example page that you don't seem to be aware of it either. (You've got spaces in your example bbcode to avoid parsing instead). If you wrap code in tags then vBulletin will not parse any bbCode commands inside them. This was added in 3.5.x and up. It's VERY handy for showing examples to your forum members! :)

I've noticed (when citing examples for the members of my forum) that if you wrap your bbcode (gvideo] or in noparse tags, and you have a Youtube or Google URL inside, the Google Video or Youtube document id will still be parsed out of it and displayed instead of the entire URL.

so for example:

will actually display

maybe the video blocks remote access.. Its possible at youtube.. or you have deactivated the plugin.

The plugin is active. For the google video it shows the google video box and a black square inside it. But for the Youtube it just shows a empty Youtube box.

Hmm... somehow, since i installed i experienced whis problem, depending on the number ofvideos embedded, the browser title is modified.

Thisi s happening when a user clicks the "View Last" button, then the title adds the post number, and it's multiplied with the number of videos, the more videos, the more #posts added.

Thought it might be another product or plugin, so i disabled everything and checked... whenever this bbcode appears, the problems seems to be there.

Anyone has had a similar experience, already contacted vb.com support and did everything they told me to do... nothing worked. :eek:

As it's a BBCode replacement I don't think it poses any kind of risk, just like the [b] code replaces the html for <b>

I've installed this mod a few times; it's fantastic and has never caused any problems.

However, on my most recent install, for some reason I can't figure out, the font color is not showing up properly from my .tcat settings. If I change any other aspects of the font—underline, bold, whatever, that works, but the font color won't change, even though it works in all the other .tcat instances in my forum.

I've been tearing my hair out trying to figure out what might be going on. I've tried replacing the tcat code in the BBCode for this mod, but those font colors don't take, either.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this issue? At this point I don't think it's the mod, but since that's the only place where the settings aren't working properly, I've posted the issue in this thread. There must be something I've missed. Any insight would be very appreciated.

All of the youtube and google videos on my site won't load now. They youtube videos just sit there with the loading graphic in the middle and the google videos don't even attempt to load. I have a ton of videos on the site and I am afraid I am going to have to manually fix them somehow.

I seem to have a problem getting it to work... when my editor is in wysiwyg mode...

why? because the url gets parsed before the youtube or gooble tags..
if i switch off the wysiwyg mode.. i can see what happend:

the tag is added as soon as I paste the url... and it somehow overrides the youtube tags...

Only workaround.. if i edit the post.. switch to non-wysiwyg mode and remove the [ url] tags manually...

I simply added <div align="center"> at the very top of the code....
Then just close by putting </div> at the very bottom ;)

Just remove the plugin you added before (manage plugins -> delete) and then continue on to the installation instructions.

Can I make a suggestion :) Our images directory is located under images/somepath, so unfortunately we don't have an images/editor directory and your queries into the bbcode table use the standard images/editor path so we've had to manually create that directory just to make the images show for this modification. Would it not be possible to use the current styles images path to point to the image instead? I haven't really looked into whether it's possible yet as I don't have time but thought this may help out others users in future..

I have been using this for a while now. Youtube have added another url for uk users, how do i add, so that both will work, the url http://uk.youtube.com so that it will play into the code shown below.

I am running vbulletin 3.8.3 and the youtube works great but only if i enter the info after the = sign.If i enter a full url i just get a white box. Also i can't get google videos to work at all.I have tried the full url and also the string of numbers.Anyone know what i might check.I have no problem with them having to enter the string after the = for youtube but would like to get the google video to work.

Little modification since Youtube is going Wide Screen ;)

Open the Product File with word pad and replace the numbers

425 = 560

340 = 340

355 = 355

400 = 572

326 = 342

638 = 897

Uninstall the product if you already have and re-install it with the new one u edited. (You have to UNINSTALL and then Re-Install so that edits take effect, overwriting product will NOT do.)

Same here. As a workaround, either enter only the video id or uncheck the 'automatically parse links' box before submitting the post.

I just installed this on 3.8.4 and it didnt work... it just had the you tube url inside of the you tube brackets. Didnt work with the You Tube ID only either ... Any idea?

Snake I couldnt figure it out but I found another one that worked great. Required no tags in the post. When a user puts int he url for a video it automatically embeds it into the post. Here is a link to it.

Getting a weird error. After we embed a youtube video. If the "go advanced" button is clicked under the quick reply box... it will load the advanced edit page for vbull then go directly to a youtube page. It happens on all our posts with youtube videos installed on them. Very strange!

Yep. I had to modify my plugin code in order to get rid of that error... and I think I may have had to modify the bbcode also for the newer youtube code.
