I'm running vBulletin 3.6.2.

I've started getting spammed about a month ago and with each week...it seems to be getting worse.

I, as well as my Moderators are getting tired of banning these bots or people. I've started to the point of banning IPs from connecting to my server. But heck, they may be using proxies anyways....or IPs may change each time the log connect to my server....I dunno....

Is there a good working method that I can put in place to battle these bots from posting?

Thanks guys,
Mark

Use a hack call miserable. Change the setting so it can take them some quite some time to log off. Best one to encounter spammers.

You might try my IP_NoRegister hack here:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=129280

It works at the IP or the IP host level (assuming the host is something you don't mind blocking)

I honestly don't use it but I put it together from someone that PMed me saying they had the same kinds of problems you are having.

You can also move the plugging to a "New Thread" hook and then these people could register but not post. Personally, I would not care if I didn't have members with those IPs so I would just lock them out!

Good Luck!
