Hi,

By mistake I had erased a field from database. For those who already installed it just download and import again: vbhotornot.xml and upload vbhotornot.php
Zipfile for the other has all the changes updated

Sure. I plan to spend this weekend to write some module for vbAdvanced for this and for my vbMates. eg Top Male/Female, Newest Male/Femal or Random.

Ah I Fixed The Problem... Still A Very Messy Phrase Setup... Icons Are hard To Read, Nice Mod Though... You Should Add The Photo, Thumb, Tmp To Your Install Process In The Folders, So We Dont Have To Add Them, Could be Confusing... Thanks

These are in the Free version. Supports 2 categories, but you can't search (seperate) categories.

What's the strange here? If you were able to see your photo, you should be also able to rate yourself, something that is prohibited. A user can't rate hiself. If you go to "My Photos" you'll see that the photo exists.

links for Males and Females dont't activate.

Hello,

I've noticed that many of you commented that:
1.- Links (Male/Female) don't work
2.- Someone can rate multiple times

Well, here I want to make a clarification. To explain what is my meaning of Free modules (and software in general). For me, Freee modules are offering by the author for use in small communities, mostly non profit communities just to make them more interesting to visitors. In none case (even if you're free to do it), I thought that I must spent my less and valuable time to write the super module and then to give it for free for use in commercial sites, in other words to give the ability to someone to have profits of my work.

Sure I know that the links don't work. I removed links just a few moment before post the module. But I left eg the infromation box at the left top side after your vote, I left Top Male/Female, I left Newest Male/Female and most important the module works fine, ehh? All of these I think that are much more than enought for someone who wants to use it in his small community. Sure I can put restrictions on multiple votes. And not only to restrict 2nd vote, but depending on the Admin, to let user not vote again at all, or to vote again after xx days.

Please try to understand, that I'm a half-century woman, I've my family and I can't spend so much time just for free. Most of you (I'm talking in general) don't like to spent a moment just to click install, or to come to my site for support which make me feel like a ping-pong's ball, running between 2 forums here and to my site, and to write same things 2-3 times.

See I Love This Hack... I Just Wish It Would Work Right... If You Saw The Next Post After My Problem, I Noticed The Chmod... But You Cant Click On Someone Picture To Rate It At All... What do you mean exactly? eg to click in one of the photos that appear in front page and to rate them? It can be easily done but I don't think that it's a "fair rule" for the others. Rating photos means that you'll see all one by one to rate all. Having this option on, most user will rate only the photos that appear in front page.

but as the author says, thats not the idea.
no sites ive ever visited with similar hacks allow you to browse first...its all part of the appeal of it.
shame the lite version allows you to refresh, and re rate tho...sort of defeats the whole object of it.

My dear is 22:15pm now in Greece and I'm working non-stop since 5am. believe it or not it's the true that happens last 4-5 days that I released the Free version. Why to kill myself this way just for non profit?? Find me a reable reason and I'll give you the commercial version for free. And don't forget that I don't have the power like other young people here as I'm already 50.

I didn't liked that "shame" that you wrote. You remember me a story when someone helped a friend to move appartment for 3 days for free. And instead of a simple "thank you" his friend was moody as he didn't also put the packages in the right place.

Nobody pressed you to install it. The module is a is. If you like ok, if you dont like just remove it. As you seen I didn't asked even for donation. So please don't give the fault to me. And if you seen the demo of the commercial version, put your hand in your heart and say that even for $24.90 is still underestimating in price.

Before Christmas I'm planing to release new versions for both vbPhotoVote (former vbHotOrNot) and vbMates (Dating module), with more features like:

1.- vbPhotoVote

Double vote restriction
Admin approval for photos
...and maybe more...2.- vbMates

Multiple search (Gender, Age, Location etc)
Admin approval for profiles
...and maybe more...The only difference is that new versions will have php code encrypted (but without any special server needs). Sorry, but I've been so disappointed seeing that 98% of you have you removed my copyright the only thing that I asked for exchange of my free offer.

Give a look at file permissions of the uploaded photos. If they're 640 something is going wrong with your website setup. I faced this problem to someone who was using Plesk as control panel. Normally uploade photos must get 644 permissions.
In any case, in a couple of days I'll post a new module (vbPhotoVote) which has lot's more features than this one. But I believe that you'll have the same problem.

i am using plesk but the uploaded pictures got 644. i am running out of ideas :(
