I have notice several people becoming more and more interested with advertising on their site. While some modifications work better than others, this modification when used correctly can help increase user revenue.

This modification will create a second navbar menu and use the adsense link unit and selected vBulletin links to fill it.

- Edit Nabar template -
Locate:

</if>
<if condition="$show['member']">

<td class="vbmenu_control">

<if condition="$show['searchbuttons']">

<if condition="$show['member']">
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="search.php?$session[sessionurl]do=getnew" accesskey="2">$vbphrase[new_posts_nav]</a></td>
<else />
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="search.php?$session[sessionurl]do=getdaily" accesskey="2">$vbphrase[todays_posts]</a></td>
</if>
</if>
</if>
</tr>
</table>
</div>
<!-- / nav buttons bar -->
- Note : I have not had Google check the ad-placement in regard for program policies.

Forgive my poor HTML abilities to make a more sophisticated method, this post is more to give further ideas how to use AdSense on your forum :)

Yep, that is one of the problems. I have tested on a few forums, some it will look really good, others it just doesn't look good at all. It really depends on how you can modify the appearance to match your site.

Why would you ask that? If you have an adsense account, it becomes your responsibility to know what is and what isn't safe to add in regards to google adsense.

Lets say I tell you it is safe and I was wrong. Then someone reports your site to google and they decide to boot you from the program. Would you be writing google trying to explain that "Rich" said it was safe to use? If they bothered to respond (which they likely wouldn't) , they would tell you this:

"Unfortunantly, Rich is not employed by Google. The TOS explains what is and what isn't allowed."

See now why it is your responsibility to know the TOS?
