How do I make a whole backup of my forum so that if it went down and I uploaded something then all the posts, users, settings, etc.. would be the same?
Thanks in advance:)

Admincp > Maintanance > Database Backup
Select All YES at the top then scroll down to the end of the list and click save. This will save a copy of your database to your computer. Good practice is to do this every few days.
You may also want to take a backup of the files on your server. I recommend doing this on every modification installation or vB upgrade then you always have an upto date copy of them.

I use SQLyog enterprise.. Using the build in backup from admincp is good if your a new site with a smaller database but when you get to large you will notice that you will need something external to do yourbackups which is more stable.

I'm also a noob here. I tried to back up my files to my harddrive (into a folder I created on my desktop) but the reply came back "Backup filename must end with the .sql extension." So let's say that I want to save it to:
C:\Documents and Settings\Chuck\Desktop\Backup
Then I changed it to
C:\Documents and Settings\Chuck\Desktop\Backup.sql
But I don't see any such file on my desktop.
Do I need to download some sql program to my computer or something? I really am clueless here.

Here is the web address for this application. Very nice backup utility, I have been using it for 2 years now and has no issues backing up small or large database. I have used a couple other tools available and by far this is the nicest...
