Member of the month image

Can anyone tell me what is the easiest was of adding a member of the month image to a users profile & postbit?

Obviously it will need to be removed and assigned to the winner of the next month etc.

would it not be simple to just change there avatar?

Don't really want to do that. I'd prefer to create an additional image.
