Need some help removing queries from the forum home page

Hi Everyone,

I've removed my last post column as well as my moderator name column from the forum home page by editing the forumhome templates. However, my number of queries rightly didn't decrease, since I still have to remove them.

Can someone tell me how to do this? And more importantly, is it possible do tell me how to make the changes into a hack, so that I can publish it for other ppl to make use of?
