I have modified vBug Tracker to replace that, as I dont think it will be updated. I even think vBug Tracker is actually better because of how it handles subscriptions.
The modifications I made to vBug Tracker were:
+ Making everything private by default (mine is a one2one private help centre)
+ Making it so that normal users could only see their own 'tickets'.
+ Creating a little 'assign-to-me' button to quickly assign a task to a helper.
+ Colour highlighting of unassigned tickets
I can email you what I did if you want, but I'm not sure if i am allowed to post it here as it is only (albeit, heavily) modified version of someone else's hack.

For anyone else wishing to use this:
1. Install https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=96888&highlight=bug+tracker
2. Open one2one.txt
3. find all instances of 'speakout.biz' and replace them with your own site. There are only a couple, the locations of images. The reason this is specified is that no matter what style you are using, these little icons should be the default ones in the 'one2one'.
4. Save this file as one2one.php
5. Upload one2one.php
6. Edit your templates. The other text files i have attached are the entire contents of the templates. Replace everything in each template in the vBug tracker with everything in the file with the same name. I made many, many template edits and this is the fastest, easiest way to do it. you wont be using the original bug tracker templates anyway.
7. The template VBUGS has a little intro for my site in it. delete this, or insert something for your own. Just search for "SpeakOut" to find it.
7. If you wish, delete the file vbugs.php from your server as you wont be using it. You could just leave it there and ignore it. Remember to always link to www.YourDomain.com/Forum/one2one.php though.
8. Edit the phrases for vBug tracker. Try replacing every instance of 'Bug' with 'Ticket' or 'Issue', unless you want to keep everything as a bug.
Clicking the little grey image on an unassigned ticket will assign that ticket to whoever clicks it. It is only visible to USergroups with the 'can admin bugs' permission. Also, only these usergroups can see 'all' tickets. Other, normal members will only see their own tickets.

Doesnt work too well.
I think if someone made it specifically for this reason, it would be better.

by all means, go right ahead. but im curious as to what there is in the vbsupport system that isnt in this modified vbug tracker?
1. users see only their own tickets
2. 'officials' see all tickets and can assigned them to themselves
3. tickets have various states like 'open', 'work in progress', 'finished'.
4. email and pm notification when the 'ticket' is updated.
5. customisable template and phrases.
