Thumbnail open in new window question

I have my forum set to open attachments in a new window
how can I make this new window have a background color of black and fixed dimensions of 800X600 px?

any help would be great

what if the image is larger then 800x600?


and far as i know it'll be pretty hard, as the attachment.php file seems to only output the attachment image and nothing else, i tried to modifiy it to do a similar thing and didnt have much luck, but that doesnt mean it cant be done ;)

I have all attachments set with a max dimensions of 800 px and resize if larger, so everything should fit
I would be happy if I could just set the background color to black, somehow
