Reverting Templates v. Request Advice

I noticed that 3.6.1 has been released and notice some template reversions. My question is if I have custom mods installed in my forums, how will the upgrade affect those mods.

If I revert back, does this mean I have to go back and redo all the mods?

any reverted templates will required any template modifications applied to the original ones to be redone.
