Hi, please share your experience of SEO Mods.
Has anyone used the Free SEO mod Vrewrite? How does it compare to VbSEO/?

I have seen some mods that do a little seo in the links but nothing out now really compares to VBSEO (http://www.vbseo.com/). It's well worth the money if SEO is something you really need and depend on.
That being said, backlinks and a steady flow of content is always the number one thing you can do.

rewritten urls are rewritten urls, doesnt matter if vBseo rewrites them or vRewrite does them.
What doesnt compare is the additional features and ease of use. If you think $150 is a small amount to pay for SEO then vBSEO is your answer, if you think just having pretty urls that end in .html without the hefty price vRewrite is good

your sorta correct,, the vrewrite is a good mod, but last time I installed it, there wasn't a sitemap that would submit the rewritten url's, so it was pointless really :(
plus you have pretty much one or two options how you want your url's..
vbseo has many options as to how you want your url's to be, including length, forum/thread ID's excluding worlds, or if a thread title has acronym es in them, vbseo can make it the word..
for example..
if a user posted,, "have you used vB today"
you can make vbseo change "vb" to "vbulletin"
so the new url would be " have you used vbulletin today"
some other options are, the word separators, you can use w/e u want like; - _ . or your custom divider..
but like Code Monkey said, back links are more important then anything, vBSEO isn't needed to make your site succeed, but it will help ;) I've seen it happen on a dozen site myself, not to mention the 100's of clients at vbseo, very few are un-happy ;)
here are some more tips to help with vBulletin Search Engine Optimizing (http://forum.vbulletinsetup.com/f7/) not releated to vBSEO or any other rewrite ;)

Wondering how vbseo helps generate backlinks ?
As far as I can understand, its best tool for getting best PR value for your pages + 1 link for your content (site pages)
Its a very good software but heard its little more resource hungry...

2.4.0 and earlier versions had a small impact on the server but the new versions are working without any effect.

I've read a few threads over at VB and the verdict seems to be 50/50 on vBSEO.
I have considered vBSEO, but $150 is expensive and the TOS restrictions are questionable - I'd like to know why the author has such restrictions in place, because without an answer I think this can deter people.

I can only comment on my site and the other reviews i am reading at vbseo forum. I had 23 k indexed pages at google before vBSEO. And now please check on your side http://www.google.com.tr/search?hl=tr&q=site%3Aayyas.com&btnG=Google%27da+Ara&meta=
My referrals from google , yahoo increased.
My board has clean url's and all my modifications also have clean urls :)
My forum meet with blogs and having constant relationship with them.
My board is getting indexed by blog search engines.
I donot use adsense but if i did my earnings will go up like skyrocketing because of all the extra incoming vBSEO is giving to me.
vBSEo is an expensive modification but with vBSEO you can earn your money back way easier.

vBseo dont allow adult rated forums, now thats a good way to lose out on the biggest online business.
Now I could understand their perogative if they don't want adult sites associated with their good name, but what is the reason they don't just force adult sites to just pay more for the product for the cost of removing the branding association?
That way, the problem would be solved with associating an adult site with the vBSEO name brand. I have not seen a response to this inquiry anywhere (from both others' public inquiries, or my own private inquiry) and I believe the team is made up of genuinely good caring people, but I wonder why there is no comment about a more expensive non-branding option for sites that are still legal, but don't necessarily fall within the "positive image" category.
This way, image association would be a non-issue for the company. Does it really go beyond just image? If so, I would at least like to know if that is the case.

I can clarify that there is no plan to allow adult sites to use vBSEO under any circumstance. This is a firm company policy.
We appreciate the interest in our product from the many adult forum admins that have contacted us, we will be strictly enforcing our Acceptable Usage Policy.

Has there previously been any stable release for earlier versions of vBulletin or has it always been in RC thus far? Just curious and really eager :)

vbseo does great on big boards ;)
I feel more big-boards will start using it once they see the results. I seen a member install it this week on 2 or 3 300k+ post boards.. the million post boards will come soon ;)

FYI We already have several forums with in excess of 1 million posts. :) It's exciting to think at the Web traffic that can be gained by optimizing a board of that size. The range of keywords that generate traffic must be overwhelming!
