Side-Bar On the forum.. How to?

I am looking for a way to have a side bar on the forumdisplay, and forum index pages... I don't want them on the posts page however.. anyway I can manually add that? What files would I edit, and where would I put the codes for the tables?

You may want to take a look at peterska2 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/member.php?u=43427) side panel modification. She has released both a right/left hand sided version and it's very simple to install and work with. Ensure that you click the install button and she will provide any additional support that you may need.
