I am upgrading my site from 3.5.3 to 3.6.0. It has multiple hacks. In addition, we're moving site URL's/HOSTS. So, I'm wondering what would be the best order in which to do my upgrade?

Do I:

Install 3.6 on the new site, add the hacks, then import my database?
Install 3.6 on the new site, import the database, then install the hacks?
Or
Copy my 3.5.3 on the old site to the new site, import the database, then do an upgrade to 3.6, then add my hacks?
Or is there something else that I can do?

ttt please?

My preference would be to install a clean copy of 3.6 on the new host, import db. Make sure it all works, and then start to apply your hacks.

The 3rd.
You should import the database before upgrading of course.
If you import vB 3.5.3's database to 3.6 there could be problems, since the structures of the 3.5.x and the 3.6 databases are different.

Do the server move as a like for like site, then do the upgrade to 3.6.

Make sure that you check for any modifications that may cause problems with your upgrade before upgrading by reading the relevant support/release threads first.
