Commbull for 3.6

Hi!

I was happy to find a newsletter tool like commbull, but according to the threads I saw it doesn't work with vB 3.6. Is there any plan to publish a script to fix this or is there any similar tool working with 3.6 available?

i'd be interested as well, i've been running CommBull since...3.0.x and love it.

For the record my Commbull works w/ 3.6 but some features aren't available (like stats since last XX/YY/ZZ date) but at least the mail still sends. :)

hi there!

looks like nobody wants to support this amazing tool? i am sending out a mass mail from time to time and it really increase your visits. the thing is, you always need a topic. if you simply distribute the latest vb topics, it should be interesting for almost every member. so please please is there anybody who can make the changes for 3.6?

Sometimes i think if you are not in the click, people dont listern to you here. there are lots of posts were until someone whos respected here, like a member of the team say yes it dont happen, i got vb because of this place, but over that year, asking for help has started falling on closed doors.

And before people start going on about my postcount, and support, my partner posted when we had problems (BlackBeard) but i had to start because he's away with work.

I have found that coders reply to reqests, If they think its feasable and if they have the time to do this, The coders here work FOC on requests, Therefore if you are wanting something of this size to be created then i would post in the Service request section

Due to many private requests, have coded the 3.5 version of commbull to work with vBulletin 3.6.

Originally I pulled the version for 3.5 that I coded because there were complaints of thread selection being a security risk. However after looking closely, the risk was not really a risk, but an admins responsibility to choose the forums that threads would be selected from by ticking the desired forum checkboxes before sending an email. In the end, the vB forum permissions prevailed if someone got a link to a thread they should not be able to see and clicked the link.

There are several forums running the code for 3.6 and they are very happy with it. However, since one of the guys that were involved in the code in the past now wants to get paid, I don't know where I stand releasing it. It's nothing special, it just works with 3.6 now.

Noppid, i'm glad to see you releasing the 3.6 version, as I would have preferred to have done that. However, since I have taken these steps, I have also added (and cleaned up) a lot of the code ... as well as adding the ability to schedule it as a cron. If you are ready to support your 3.6 version, the I welcome it. If not, then don't waste peoples time, as that's what happened last time and it was frustrating responding to the PM's to fix or help people with your version as you had not supported it.

That settles it then I guess. I can't be all things to all people and neither can you. The purpose of this place, I thought, was community support.
