Hack Idea

I have an idea, that i really would like to use. Its a very complicated hack :) Here it is: Share forum with another board.

This means, i can feature your forum (with your permission) on my board. I know that this is possible, and you would both need the hack...but it would be really good. Expecially with two sites that have the same kidna content, but dont want to creat just one site. I know this would be difficuly, but possible. There may be some issues useing two member databases, but thats one of the only isues i can think of. To make it so you would not have to give out your database password, you could write a script, that contacts there script, and there script connected to the database.


Another hack idea. style auto picked based on refurer. simple idea. if they come from domain1.com then you have it set up to use the style of domain1.com(like same colors) and if the refuer is doamin2.com then the style is the kinda you make that looks like domain2.com's layout. :) simeple idea.

Another hack idea: more detailed stat reporting. more info. i just dont like the posts, registered users and that stuff. more hits/page views/unique hits. if you want, even something like hitbox incorperated in your forum :)

Another hack idea. members groups. like catigories, and subcatigories. so they can be indexed...

Another hack idea. dmoz intergration. :) hehe....if you know what DMOZ is, then you will know this :)

Another hack idea. offer email usieng your forum. :) so you can offer membersname@thedomainyourforumison.com :)

hmm....anymore? :)...how about...more control over what each person can do. say, i want someone to beable to add new forums, but not change options. or make new style set but no member editing.. that would be good :)

This is called co-branding and is available in the 2.0 feature set of vBulletin

You can do this. All they have to do is add a style id to the link.

vBulletin already supports member groups... You can make as many of them as you want.

Not really community related but I believe this is slated to be added to the vbPortal hack where it is more appropriate.

You could hack this in but could create a big security risk. Allowing Moderators to change styles is slated for development in 2.1

I mean, like on your member list :) and you cant have subcatigories
