I used amember, for over a year.

Well, thank you for the tip! However... as a long time user of VB, and a long time seeker of a decent billing system, I have already fallen into the amember trap.

I started my relationship with them by explaining to them that my vb board was not a stock board, it was modified a little. I even told them what mods I was using. They assured me that they could handle it all, and not to worry.

I SWEAR TO GOD, I have never had a worse experience in my life!!!!

I DO NOT go out of my way to bash people, but these a55hats really cooked my turkey... where do I start? First of all, they edit posts. No, I mean that. I emailed support tens of times, and finally started going to the boards. I posted a problem on the board, and then - BAM! - support kicked it up a notch, and fixed my problem.

But then, they deleted my post from the board, although it was a problem that other amember users could very easily have, and they neglected to release an update that covered that issue.

As I continued integrating the product into my board, I ran into a few more issues. I emailed support, got canned bullsh*t answers (I'm sorry, can you describe why you are getting this error when we don't get it on our home servers?), and was ran around for weeks, after spending $160 or however much the product cost.

So I decided to be a good student and follow what I had seen work in the past - I posted on the boards. They again responded, fixed the issue, and deleted my posts... again without releasing an update that would solve these issues for other users.

I posted fixes on the boards, outlining the issues I had had and how we fixed them - and my threads disappeared.

After a few months of this crap, I finally realized that I was not the only one being treated this way - others were too. And who knows how many users actually tried to help, as I did - amember was more interested in having a clean board, with no public issues, than actually working the issues out for people. I spent 6 months dealing with them, and finally demanded a refund. Although I am sure I had been one of the biggest pain in the asses they had ever met, they pretended as if they didn't understand why I would possibly want a refund, and I had to threaten to burn cities in order to get a refund.
To this day, my database is messed up as a result of using their system long ago.

My point here:

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT USE AMEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and....

next? :P

Seriously, please look at my past posts. I am not a flamer, I take extreme pride in bringing positive posts to anything I am part of. This is out of character for me to post something like this.

My experience with amember has been extremely positive. I've been using the product in a production environment for over 4 years.

I've never experienced deleted posts or whatnot so I can't really comment on that.

The software works as intended though if your forum is extremely 'hacked' then probably buyer beware. But that is the price to pay for ANY product you wish to integrate with a vB that is 'hacked' to death :)

Cheers,

~Regs.

isnt there any third party store add-on that can be integrated with vbulletin subscription?

I also need regular ordering and billing system with invoices and such.

If anybody knows something of that kind, please drop the link here :)
