Has anyone been able to update this hack for vb 2.0? I did a search and couldn't find a recent version, but it's such a great hack! My users are lamenting its loss! I'd love to add this back in if anyone has done it or can point in the right direction.
Thanks!
TigerLily:)

BUMP...

Anybody?
I'm reading up on some old threads and was wondering :)

Are you talking about my hack?

Yes, Freddie, it was your Favorites 1.0 hack. I loved that one, so did my members! Any plans on updating this for the latest vbulletin or integrating it into a later version of the boards? Just wondering, because we really miss that feature!
Thanks,
TigerLily:)

At one point my hack was going to go into 2.0 but we decided to wait until v2.1 to decide just how to handle it properly. Right now you have subscribed threads which are just every thread that you have email notification turned on for.

In v2.1 the facility will be changed to support a thread favorites section that won't necessarily be threads that you have email notification for. I will also try to get some sort of category feature for them also.

Any chance someone still have that hack?

I want to check it out, and the link for download is broken.

I would like to adapt this so members could subscribe to other links all over my site

Sure I still have it.

Thanks for the info, Freddie! I'd love to see that hack come back in 2.1! You all are doing an AWESOME job by the way, with the new betas! My members have just been bowled over by all of the new features, and so am I. Thanks for the hard work that you and the rest of the development team have put into vbulletin!

I guess favorites-development is dead eh? My users want it back too!

Well vB3 allows you to subscribe to threads and choose to not receive email notification about them. You can also create folders to store subscribed threads in so you have all the functionality of my old hack.

Another member has also released a Favorites hack that I use... can't remember the name...

Thanks guys. Since I will always wait a good bit before upgrading to a full new version, I figured I'd get this going now. Your 1.x hack, Freddie, was relatively easy to convert to 2.x.. just the template calls and the userinfo needed to be changed. Lesane has also done this.. My users definitely appreciate having it back! I like it too as it allows you to create your own library of categorized posts.

Would you be willing to release the changes to it, sir? ;)

If Freddie says its OK, sure.. it is a Do-it-yourself special though. You'll have to install the original hack to get the templates and tables, then use the new favorites.php.

Original Favorites Hack: Ranger "Freddie" Fan2000

Updated for 2.x by: Lesane & Overgrow

Support yourself! This is a DIY. Install the original 1.x hack but use this favorites.php.
