hey,

I just purchased a VB license and imported my previous forums from SMF, also ported my custom theme to VB. Just hoping for some comments and suggestions on the style/layout ( or anything else ^_^ ).

There's not much going on with it right now, fairly new...

Thanks!

Looking at the logo I think it could be designed with a sharper more crispier look. I'm not sure which anti-aliasing setting you have but the text looks awfully jaggy. The stop (no enter) sign looks a little filterish. I may be wrong with the use of the photoshop filters (or whatever program was used to design it) but with the sign and text it doesn't give off an invisiting impression.

I don't know what to think of the style, On paper the colours you used should go well and compliment each other. Maybe the colours were used in the wrong areas? I can't put my finger on it but a little bit of experimenting imo would most certainly give it a far better appearance. maybe.

This is down to personal preference but I would personally move the .thead catergory under the .tcat giving it a more uniformed look.

Again with the colours (referring to the .tcat) these could do with a little more life and eliminate the blandness/saturated loog by applying an adjustment layer (possibly levels/colour balance) to it. Again, this is down to user preference but I would first shift the colours around because I'm sure they would look better though it's definetely lacking something.

Button Set looks okay but it's not the kind of set I would have applied for a style like this but this again could be preference driven. Also, the matting background on some of the buttons don't fit the background that they are being applied onto which is resulting in the remnants of redundent background colours showing.

Like I said, I think the colours you used work but they ought to be shifted around and possibly used in other areas.

Goodluck with your site. :)

Are you gaia from usebb who started an official resource forum for the software?

Edit: Replace all the vb stock images would be a good thing also. ;)

Hey Shelley, thanks for the review, i know there's alot of little places that really need some "lifting" with the template. But, i really suck at graphics lol so that's the best i could do. I'll certainly look into some of the things you mentioned though.

Thanks ^_^

And yup, that would be me ( starter of the unofficial usebb resource site ) :).
