I've received this warning with *some* of my games.
Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.
The error returned was:
This score was not submitted from the game. Your score will not be saved.
The arcade is correctly counting the number of plays, but not the time played (showing up as 0)
Most of the Yeti games are like this.
This was formerly a v3 installation (having officially given up on John this week).
Out of the 309 games, currently 64 have scores (but I reset the scores so my minions might not have gotten to them yet). I know there are quite a few games that worked that do not now. Most of them were formerly ibp games anyways just installed from the rars in v3.
I am using a front end, which was causing all kinds of problems for all of my games but after reading the write up about it, it fixed some of the problems (but obviously not all).

but those games do always not work, while others always submit and save their score ?
Then it would be good to provide such a game not working so I can check it...

There were some server side changes that made some previously uncooperating games work. Still some games aren't working.
Error is:

Hmmm.. and it seems that other games that were working a few days ago are no longer submitting either.. UG. Hmmm.. what a strange strange error. Ant Arena WORKS..
do I need to reinstall the games? they all worked with v3arcade prior to anything.
would I need to reinstall the games?

I'm getting the same issue on some games, but I just installed this arcade yesterday and had no converting to do... Catch 33 seems to be the latest culprit.
Apparently, on ours, it will record everything but the new highscore (or lowscore, depending on the game)

it varies on mine, sometimes a certain game will submit scores, and sometimes it wont....

is this a compatibility with older installations or v3 arcade installs converted over with the new VB? I'm *not* a programmer.

Make sure you have cookies enabled and use correct converted games.
In this case it should work fine, although I did alot of improvements for scorehandling and cheat-protection for upcoming v2.5.7+

Got cookie settings all the way enabled, and am using games made for ibproarcade.
I'm still getting complaints from people, and the site owner is asking me about changing arcade systems now. I'd rather get this figured out than change...

As far as I can see, the score is submitted correctly when you submit it after the first game you played. When you try to submit a score which is played via the "Replay"-function inside the flash game, the above mentioned error occurs.

After some complaints from various members about random games not submitting scores and some experimenting I found this out. If you are playing a game, or go to a game and before playing leave that page, such as viewing the highscores, and then press the Back button in your browser to return to the game and play, the score will not be saved and you get this error.
What makes this worse, is when you get the error, there is a 'Go Back' button. If you return to the game using this button the error happens again as this is the same action as using the Back button in the browser.

I get this error even if I don't use the go back button.

Yes I have this a lot now too since upgrading to 2.5.7.
Any chance of a facility to disable cheat protection? Frankly it causes so many complaints and so much hassle, I'd prefer to simply deal with cheats manually.

I'm suffering the same problem. Just installed 2.5.7, upgraded to 2.5.8 because it was released about 10 minutes after I originally installed it. If anyone knows of a fix I could really use it right about now.

Same problem, games wont upload any scores since upgrade to 2.5.7 ( and also in 2.5.8), is it possible to disable the cheating gateway. If you turn the game cheating gateway to off in admin, you just get a blank screen at game end, so either way it does not work.
vB 3.5.4
Arcade 2.5.8
vB 3.6.4
Arcade 2.5.8
Sounds like I'm getting the same problems. If I set it to save only the top score no matter what it says that the score will not be saved.... but if it's your high score it DOES save it.... sometimes. If you didn't beat the high score the first time you played, it will not save any score after that, even if you beat your high score later.
If I enable to save ALL scores, I get tons of MySQL errors. They are all similar to the following:
Database error in vBulletin :

I just dumped V3 for IBPArcade, and now, I'm sitting here with an arcade that doesn't submit scores as well.
I uninstalled V3, to see if that was causing my problem. It wasn't.
I'm running 3.5.7, and 2.5.8+.
My site just sits there after I hit submit.
Mr. Zeropage, <please> help us! :D

My problem is that some games submit the score and some don't. When I install a new game I test it and 2/3 of the time it won't save so I have to delete it. Games like Fairy Fishing and other new ones are not working and just sit on the game instead of going to the top score page and inserting the score.

I too have had the same problem... although, I do have a quick fix for some games, not all will work... I told all of my members to delete the "newscore" part of their browser and type in "submitscore" in its place... It will submit the score, but no comment will be saved with it. It will load the arcade main page. It's because some games are formatted to use submitscore, and others newscore.
I can't gurantee that it will work on all games, though.

They already start complaining ...
Hope you find a fix soon. The error is only for vb forums? Or for Invision too?

I have a stable VB + arcade.
I have also noticed a spike with games not scoring recently.
9 of the last 15 downloaded will not save a score for anyone.
I do not download from download sites unless the site has a score for the game.
This is not a issue like needing the "remember me" or something checked, it happens to me too.
I have tried secure sending and regular.
What else should I try?

I am sadly also experiencing this problem. I'm getting feedback that games sometimes work and sometimes don't. I find it odd that all these different games would have the same problem so concluded it is something to do with the arcade.
I found this happens very often if you go from the game screen and view the highscores then press the browser back button to play the game. But my users now say it also happens even if they go straight into the game.
This seriously has to be the worst bug in what is otherwise a brilliant script and I cannot understand why Mr Z is not responding with any comments here?

Well, my main problem is I can not reproduce this error.
I administer several vBulletins from 3.0.x to 3.5.x/3.6.x and none of them has this problem while using correctly converted games (which I almost got from www.ibparcade.com)
What I got told is that some SEO-products do spoil the score-transfer and thus the index.php and arcade.php should be configured to be untouched by any SEO/rewrite-rules
So what should I do ?

After the upgrade to 2.5.9 I tried some different games. It turns out that most of them work. The 2 that don't are pacman and asteroids. This is on a strictly default install, with the default games and no SEO software or hacks.
Maybe there is something similar in those 2 games that gives you a clue?

I've installed 2.5.9 & it works fine apart from the scores.
I'm running vbAdvanced so have changed my index.php page to forums.php
When I try to save a score it automatically wants to save to http://mysite.com/index.php
Is there any way to change this to http://mysite.com/forums.php
Sorry guys am pretty new to this.

It's not just an Ibproarcade problem.
Other arcade systems, like SMFarcade, had the same problem.
Can be numerous reasons.
A bit too long to enter here, but I have posted some possible reasons on my site.
I overexagerated them to make sure I receive as less PM's about it as possible:

I sure hope it gets fixed soon. Could it possibly be because the system thinks people are cheating? Or maybe because of all the different formats for scores. (maybe redo it to convert any other format into ibp format (via redirect). I really don't know whether to play around on a test board, to figure it out, or wait and see...

OK here's what I could find out. All Arcade V2 Games work fine but the newer Arcade V32 Games will not submit the score.

I think it's something to do with the anti-cheat protection.
A good solution would be the ability to turn that feature off.

If it has a file called v32game.txt then it's a v32 game and not compatible. We need to figure out a way to use these games since they are all going that route. Time for an update?
