Hello Nitroman
Which version of vb are you using in 3.5.4 you add the title you want to display by editing the usergroup first so
1. admincp/usergroups/usergroup manager/ edit administators
2. 3rd option down 'User Title (Use this to override the default 'ladder' of user titles)' add the title you want displayed
3. after you have saved this you click on the text i have coloured red above which is a link to the user title manager (also found admincp/user titles/user title manager) and you update user ranks and titles

If you leave an empty space it fills it with another title ie on my forum it users the senior member so it may just be easier to leave the title as one you chose or use a '-' or '***'. Sorry I cant be of any more help.

After playing around I managed it this way. I dont use any title based on the number of posts a member has and I set my own titles with the different usergroups (not in the usertitle manager) this meant I could delete the usual 'senior member' junior member and member titles in there. Now when i leave the title blank in the usergroup 'Administrators' it doesnt display any title at all under my name.
