Hello.

I'm new in the community since I'm also a new VB owner. I have used phpBB for years but recently I realised for my webmaster community I need something else. So I have installed Vbulletin 3.5.5 and installed some hacks on it already.

I still have a lot to learn since it's hard to me to adjust to the new script, but I hope I will manage to tame it in the end.

Webmaster Tips & Tricks (http://www.wtricks.com/forums) is the link to it. I have used the default VB theme since I installed a hack and didn't want to ruin it with another theme. I have created a right column that shows in all pages to put some links and information. The main content is in the left.

The theme was started from scratch in my image editor and sliced. Then I tried to import everything in the VB theme. I have also modified almost all buttons and graphics.

Now I am looking for some constructive criticism from the VB specialists in here.

Thank you in advance for all your tips.

Not feelin the header.. Pretty basic, Colors go nicely with the forum blends in well. Good info on the side, Very easy to get around and know where to go.
It looks a little messy in the middle, With the (non)catagory descriptions.

Shazz, thank you for taking the time to look at the skin ;)

The header is a bit weird, since I tried to also have the "branded" look of that weird magician hat (I used the symbol for 1 year already and people recognize the board from it) and the other "logo" was to enforce a deisgn element I repeated in the theme: the star.

I need to look into that .. and also change the favicon (I used it when we had an orange as the logo and the slogan: fresh ideas for a smart design). It's not related anymore to the new looks. Will need to 'kill' those descriptions too (I read they're good for SEO, that's why I used them.

Thank you again for your time. Anyone else with some interesting tips?

Overall, it's a very nice style which looks clean and uncluttered. With regards to the logo I would remove the white surround on the text, enlarge it and instead of the white surround, implement a drop shadow at a low opacity using linear burn so the text looks prominant.

The Lastpost and collapse markers look okay though the arrrows inside look very crammed. Maybe opt for one arrow to give it some space.

Sub_forum images should be replaced for something custom, something custom which will look consistent with the style to highlight the area.

Same goes for the navbits_start.gif & navbits_final.gif image. Possibly replace this for something custom.

Apart from that everything looks spot on. ;)
