How to use the vB member system for a whole website ?

Hi All,
I was thinkin of creating a member system for my portal when i thaught about the membership system of my vb :).

So what about creating a "hack" for logging on a vb extern page.

Has someone ever look at Vb membership system ? i mean the cookie and their content ?

=> do u hae some tips / advice / request ?

Has anyone come up with something like this? I would like to use a hack like this within my site (and several others).

vBportal beta 5 (main page)
My "content" hack (for other pages)
vB 2.0 (forum)

Thats about all I can think of.
