Is there a mod/hack/etc that will make users update and validate their email address thats "on file".

So when they login or the next time they visit the site they are forced to confirm the email address they have registered with the site, where it then sends a confirmation email to that address where they have to click the link to validate it before they can do anything else on the site.

Have alot of users that no longer have current email addresses assocciated with their usernames.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know of a hack, but you can announce your intention and then place everyone in the awaiting email confirmation usergroup. This will be a pain though if you have a massive member base.

yea i thought of that but i want to do it to users that havent logged in for say 6 months and then they come back. or to users that signed up before a certain date.

I've been looking everywhere for this as well. I have 1700 members, and when I send out a mass email I get over 1000 failure messages!

I have countless email returned as undeliverable.

I am necro posting this topic because I cannot find a hack or a feature in vBulletin to address this issue.

You can easily put a "IF conditional" for that which checks the "Joined" date.
