View Full Version : [VB 3.6.0] Invite-only boards

I want to have a system whereby only those who are given a valid invite link are able to register on my forums. This invite link may be generated by the admin and perhaps emailed out to all potential members.

I basically want to shut off registration to everyone except people who I extend an invite to. I also don't want unregistered users to be able to view the forums.

Thanks,
Jayphen

Check out my invites system, which is free and should work fine with 3.6.

Wicked - do you know of anyone that has attempted to install it on 3.6?

As I said, should work fine with 3.6, because it is a separate file that does not rely on any of the vBulletin's core systems...

This must be out dated, I see the script for 24.99

Please see post #4. The script is not outdated, it simply does not have as many features as the commercial edition. Yet, it works fine.

This hack's free edition has not been ported to 3.6 yet.

It has not been "officially" ported (released in 3.6 section), but it works on 3.6.

I had a client request that I install the 'free' version on his 3.6 forum. Worked fine.

You'd think the author saying, "It should work" would be enough though...

Yes, but sadly, some people are paranoid.

Invites System by Psionic doesn't work on VB 3.6.x , i tried to install it but it doesn't even send emails to users.

there's a free way to do this. let me come up with something tonight and i'll email it to someone. (i dont post my mods on here as a rule), but you guys can send it to whoever you want.

it'll be something along the lines of adding a "code" field to the registration processes and/or a link for simplicity.
