upgrade or restart

can i install 3.6 and then restore the database from 3.54? or do i have to upgrade? my board just has too many mods and plugins etc...that i don't have the skills to ever upgrade.

You should be able to upgrade by disabling your existing plugins. Make sure you take a backup of the database before attempting it if you're not sure how to upgrade.

If all fails you can install 3.6.0 and then use Impex to transfer threads / posts etc from the old to the new database.

You can obviously re-install the vbux hack on 3.6.0 but Impex won't transfer any vbux items, gifts etc.
