My addon has NOTHING to do with profile fields being in the registration. Go to the AdminCP -> User Profile Fields -> User Profile Field Manager, then edit a field. Go down to Field Required. One of the options in the dropdown is "No, but display at registration". Change that to just "No", and it'll remove it from the registration. Keep in mind my mod is just a manipulation of the DATA in the custom profile fields you create, doesn't actually change the profile field options.

Makes sense considering that the GTUserCP mod replaces the USERCP_SHELL.

Took a quick look at it, and I THINK (NOTE: UNTESTED, TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK, preferably on a test bed first) you can make 2 quick edits to add the Extra Options link.

In GTPM_USERCP_SHELL Find:

Or... you can use the add-on for this plugin, which does the SAME THING. My dropdown plugin also came out months before that one, and my plugins for profile modifications are supported :)

I'm having a problem. As soon as I move any profile field outside of my Edit Details into the new page, it stops being searchable on my Memberlist.

Thanks!The link disappears because it uses another template, not the default VB one which is where the modifications are being made in Wired1's hack. If you'd like to use that hack and Wired1's hack at the same time, you'll need to reapply the code to the template which the hack uses which is USERCP_SHELL_ICONS rather than the stock VB one which is USERCP_SHELL.

GameWizard, do you see this same issue?I have a similar issue, but for me the "reset fields" button (beside the submit button) does not work at all, thats including the stock vb pages and the pages created with your hack, and all they contain is regular text multi-line text boxes. But this could very well be as a result of all the template modifications I've made, I'd have to play around with it a bit to know for sure.

Alright, I have gone through your thread and managed to dig this code up:

Basically it allows me to show ALL the custom profile fields, and they become searchable. HOWEVER, I have 2 hidden fields that are appearing, which is the issue that has been made aware of here:

The problem is, I don't understand what he means by 'a new query'. I have tried different code variations and it simply does not work. Basically what I have discovered is that if I use only Form = 6, it will ONLY display the ones I need appropriately, and if they are hidden, it won't display them. However, as soon as I use the "form = 0 or 6" it completely ignores the hidden fields and shows them all, even though the hidden ones are not functional.

Please let me know if there is a remedy for this situation as it's important for me.

It just changes how they're displayed! Not sure what you did exactly, but if you're seeing fields multiple times when registering, then you have multiple repeating fields in the Profile Fields in the AdminCP.

To achive the functionality shown in the screenshots from my last post I had to make another code hack and a template change. I've sent over a PM with my how to although I think with some work you could make this hack even more extensible and really take advantage of the new userprofilefield categories.

You need to follow all of the instructions. Sounds like you didn't edit the PHP files, and that leads to fields not being shown in the AdminCP, because they are in a category not in the PHP files.

Nope. No errors with 3.7. Took a few changes to make it appear how I wanted however but I'm sure an update will be out just as soon as the programmer has time to make it. Please remember, this is a free addon, upgrades sometimes take a backseat to life.

I'm working on the dropdown mod ATM, and it's looking like it may have NO edits necessary. So, the same may be possible for this mod. Looks like a lot of hooks were added.

ATM though, it's either leave some edits in, and remove the SQL query, or keep the SQL query in, and remove some manual edits. I'm going the 2nd route, as if Jelsoft listens to the modders, and makes a tweak, then the SQL query will no longer be necessary.

Hopefully I'll have the 3.7.x version done this weekend. Technically it's no longer needed, as the dropdown mod is a full product now (no manual edits, yay!) and doesn't rely on any of the edits from it. Yes, the dropdown product is done, just gotta double check it, clean up some stuff, but it's fully functional.

But this mod sounds great. It would be very good if you could do it without file edits. I don't like making changes to the files.

As from the 3.7 topic - I uninstalled this version however when I view a user's profile from the Admin CP, I still see the info from this mod. The custom profile fields were deleted and the 3.7.0 board was a clean install, so the php edits won't still be there.

The table heading when viewing in the AdminCP reads 'Profile Fields From Form ""'

You didn't change the Display Page area (for each profile field) back to a vB default option.

Edit: The only profile fields I have left are default vBulletin ones - so because I deleted the custom fields I buggered it up?

Sure you deleted them all? If there's no field marked as Option: Extra Options, then nothing should show up there. Install this mod with the 2 edits in the instruction file, and you will be able to change it back to default.

Also, this mod is for 3.6.x, NOT 3.7.x.
