I started to install this and it was going fine, but then i found i was missing some code and could not complete the install.
However, now after trying to reverse the procedure, i am left with half the mod installed.
When you go to forums/moderators it has the thread prefix options. Now when i delete a thread or post, i get an error and a white blank page.
If i then refresh, it goes back to my board stating 'i have not deleted anything', even though its now gone.
I really need this mod taken out, so if the auther or anybody that really knows their stuff can help, then please get back to me.
Thanks in advance.

the state of hacks for the vbulletin community is in a pretty bad shape.
I wish some of these popular hacks would become commercial ....so we have a chance to at least pay and have something working :(

Had this installed for a while during a testing period, worked great, now the community as a whole love it too. Well done and thank you!
However, they request that the prefix comes AFTER the title, ie on the right hand side, rather then before the title, on the left. Not in it's own column, but in a forum when you are viewing all the threads.
Since I suspect that the code is in showthreads.php I don't want to mess about unless I know what I am doing.
Anyone know how I might do this?
Thanks again Mystics for this great mod!

Installed back when I was running 3.6.0 and no problems during the upgrades since then. One question if anyone might know: Is there any way to have the prefix show up with the thread title in the notification email when subscribed to the thread? I'm sure it's a simple email/notification template prefix, but I can't find the dang things in my vBoptions>style manager>template options>edit templates

This still doesn't work for me.
This is how the show thread looks:
The prefix doesn't show and everything gets put in the wrong column (although within the thread the prefix is shown).
If i set the "show thread prefixes in extra column / alignment to "NO" the showhread.php is not broken anymore, but still the prefixes aren't showing.

Great Mod,
Took awhile to do all the template changes but worked perfect in 3.6.7 without any issues.
Only 1 suggestion id make and that would be to include all the template changes in a text file in the download as the install file doesnt show up all the changes, the only way I could find them was to use the copy feature...
But other than that its a great mod,
cheers

Just wondering, could someone provide me with the code, to customize this MOD.
I would like to see if anyone knows what modefications i have to do to this mod to be able to have two prefix.
Members
Guest
Members should be able to see all the content..
Guest should be only be able to see threads that are prefixed Guest.
So if a guest clicks on a member thread. Maybe a pop up will come up saying for example..
"The thread you are trying to view is for members only"
Press Ok to resgister. or cancel to go back to the forum section were he was originally.
I might be asking for a lot, but am not sure... Am not much of a coder and would really like that..
Thank you.

One bug I found when helping track down a conflict a user of one of my hacks was having with this modification was the following:
In the plugin Prefix: Query Prefix in Search Forums (Thread) the variable $hook_query_fields is being declared instead of appended. This will cause conflict with any modification using this same hook location. So, in order to properly fix this replace the contents of the plugin with:
Prefix: Query Prefix in Search Forums (Thread):
$hook_query_fields .= ', thread.threadprefix';
Note the addition of a '.' (period) before the '=' (equals).
That should do it. :)

I love this mod, but it has issues with the vS-Interactive Profiles mod. When both are enabled and I post it says it is a duplicate post and takes me to the first post. there is no actual double posting, but it thinks so for some reason. I think it might even just be something supermods/admins experience, which makes it more odd.
edit// turns out it was the hack that prevented bumping of old threads
edit// problem is back so I have no clue what it is. All i know is that disabling this solves it :(

<a href="http://www.yourdomain.com/forum/admincp/prefixinstall.php" target="_blank">http://www.yourdomain.com/forum/admi...fixinstall.php</a>
The prefixinstall.php SHOULDVE be in your admincp folder. If its not, that is why you can't follow the link.
Or change the "your domain" to your site and if you use /forums instead of /forum, watch out for that too. Its probably easier to just goto your admincp and then replace index with prefixinstall.php

I just found a bug in the mod
If the option "Thread Prefix Required" is set to yes, the automatic creation of threads for User Post Reports and User Infractions wont work.
This is due to the fact that there must be a prefix specified and the vBulletin methods don't specify one when creating the thread.

yes i found that problem in mine, but i over came that. just search for <td><input type="text" class="bginput" name="title"
and then look for the </td> at the end to know the codes ended.
i have a problem.
because i have a couple hundred posts that do not have a prefix.. is there some way i can easily assign them a prefix.. (note: they will all be named the same prefix, depending on what forum they came from... so all from depression forum will be auto named depression prefix)

Do you mean setting/editing/deleting prefixes from a forum ???
If so you have to do a very easy template modification:
in FORUMDISPLAY find:
<if condition="$foruminfo['allowprefix']">
<div><label for="fa_cat"><input type="radio" name="do" id="fa_cat" value="manageprefix" />$vbphrase[manage_threadprefix]</label></div>
</if>
Replace with:
<if condition="is_member_of($bbuserinfo, X, Y, Z)"><if condition="$foruminfo['allowprefix']">
<div><label for="fa_cat"><input type="radio" name="do" id="fa_cat" value="manageprefix" />$vbphrase[manage_threadprefix]</label></div>
</if></if>
You must change X, Y, Z with the number of usergroups allowed to edit prefixes. In this way Moderators can't see the link to edit prefixes in "Forum tools".
It worked on my forum :D

how do i remove the Prefix Category from the New Posts?
Thread Title - Prefix
This has been asked a few times and want to know if there is a solution. This is my last thing to do to get this MOD functioning on my board. Does it have something to do with the "Prefix Markup (within threads and emails)" option in the AdminCP? The following two examples are suggested:
Examples:
{1} - results to Prefix - Title.
[{1}] results to [Prefix] Title</SPAN>.
What would produce Title [Prefix]? I have played with different combinations and can not seem to figure this out. I would like to do away with the prefix from the thread title altogether, but Title [Prefix] looks better than the above two options.

Is it possible to add an option to the user's profile so that by default, the threads are automatically filtered?
I am trying to use this mod for a multi lingual site, and I would have each thread tagged per language. So whenever the user browses the site, he would see the threads that correspond to his language, if he chooses to.
Is this possible?
NFLfbJunkie

Something I noticed while playing around with this MOD on this site is when you filter for a MOD by a prefix and end up on say page 2 of the filtered threads, and then select another thread prefix, it takes you to page 2 of that thread prefix's thread and not page 1. Is there a fix to this?
What would produce Title [Prefix]? I have played with different combinations and can not seem to figure this out. I would like to do away with the prefix from the thread title altogether, but Title [Prefix] looks better than the above two options.
Hi Junkie. :) Can you clarify -- where exactly do you want Title [Prefix] to show this way? On the threads list in forumdisplay? Or within the thread itself? Or both?
Generally speaking, you'd need to find this code:
<if condition="$show['threadprefix'] == 1">
<if condition="$thread['threadprefix']">$prefixmarkup[0]$thread[threadprefix]$prefixmarkup[1]</if>
</if>
And move it after the thread title code. For example, in threadbit template (which affects how the thread title displays on forumdisplay), the thread title and prefix code section originally should look something like this:
$thread[movedprefix]
$thread[typeprefix]
<if condition="$show['threadprefix'] == 1">
<if condition="$thread['threadprefix']">$prefixmarkup[0]$thread[threadprefix]$prefixmarkup[1]</if>
</if>
$thread[moderatedprefix]
<a href="showthread.php?$session[sessionurl]t=$thread[threadid]$thread[highlight]" id="thread_title_$thread[realthreadid]"<if condition="$show['gotonewpost']"> style="font-weight:bold"</if>>$thread[threadtitle]</a>
To move the thread prefix (but not the "moved" or "moderated" prefixes) display after the thread title, you'd want the above section to look like this:
$thread[movedprefix]
$thread[typeprefix]
$thread[moderatedprefix]
<a href="showthread.php?$session[sessionurl]t=$thread[threadid]$thread[highlight]" id="thread_title_$thread[realthreadid]"<if condition="$show['gotonewpost']"> style="font-weight:bold"</if>>$thread[threadtitle]</a> <if condition="$show['threadprefix'] == 1">
<if condition="$thread['threadprefix']">$prefixmarkup[0]$thread[threadprefix]$prefixmarkup[1]</if>
</if>
If you let me know exactly where you want this change, I can give you more detailed instructions. Hope this makes sense!

I would like to totally remove the prefix [Football] (while still having the thread prefix active for the forum the thread is in) and just have the title of the thread (within the thread itself). Oh, that's no problem then! You'll laugh at how easy this is when I show you. :)
1. In your admincp, go down to Plugins & Products, and click on Plugin Manager.
2. When the plugin manager opens, look in the section called Product : Thread Prefixes and disable the following two options (by unchecking their checkboxes):
Prefix: Display Prefix in Front of Title (Post)

My pleasure, Junkie. There's a simple template mod by raiderlax called Title of Thread (Standing Out in Middle) (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=143734) here that does what you're looking for. Very easy, just adding a couple of lines to the SHOWTHREAD template. Don't forget to click "installed" on his template mod to let him know it was helpful. :)

Is it possible to make a product of this hack?
The reason that I ask is that since there are a lot of template edits, a lot can go wrong with both installing and uninstalling.
I really like this hack and the possibilities it gives. vb versions like 3.6.6 that make you loose all template edits with upgrading will likely come more often, now that Jelsoft works on various official add-ons.

You should UNinstall it since it's not working on 3.6.7 nor 3.6.8.
Revert all your templates and re-upload the original PHP and Javascript files to make your forum works properly.

well.. if you dont want the thread prefixes to show why not just disable the mod?
I want people to be able to attach prefixes and for people to be able to search via the prefix but the display is not needed since most of the time the team name is used in the thread title, making it redundant.

The Template Modification System (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=1298045) hack seems ideal for hack with so many template edits, like this one. If anyone has created the Template-Modification XML file, for the Thread Prefixes add-on, then please post this here. This will save a lot of work for many others and will keep your template changes through upgrades of vbulletin and the Thread Prefixes add-on.
Edit. I was just informed that the XML file is included in the zip file of the Template Modification System (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=1298045) hack, so that will make installing Thread Prefixes a piece of cake.

Hi there,
I use the Event Forums Hack to create Threads assigned to the Calender. When i create a new Thread there´s no ability to choise one of the Präfixes. Is there a way to do it with a Template Edit?

I did this on my site:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/
And the prefixes are still showing:

Any suggestions?
Anyone? I could really use some help here. I also was wondering if there was any way to exclude the prefixes from external.php.
patrickb

If i'm not mistaken, the prefixes in the external.php field might come from modifications done to class_dm_threadpost.php
Might want to take a look.
To completely remove the mod, revert all the template changes and all the modified files.

Dunno if this has been dealt with but I've installed this now and I noticed two things....
Quick Reply
When you do this it says:
"The following errors occurred when this message was submitted"
But no error has occured. If you click to submit again it tells you that you have already posted that message. So i refresh and see that it's there.
Why is there a supposed error and post not seen without manual refresh?
Deleting
I just deleted two threads and noticed something come up when I did. I've just gone to create a new thread to get the message but had the below issue.
Checked and it's only when deleting from the forumdisplay not thread. I'm guessing due to the post I just added below this regarding it already saying 'Go (2)'
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/ganet/public_html/includes/functions_databuild.php:1843) in /inlinemod.php on line 682
New Thread
I got this when making a new thread:
Unable to add cookies, header already sent.
File: /home/ganet/public_html/includes/functions_databuild.php
Line: 1843

Just checking and though that error shows - the topic has been made, just like the post issue.
Also note that on the bottom where you choose to merge, delete multiple threads etc... it says 'Go (2)' on the button without anything selected!!!
Now I'm trying removing the thing but after thinking I've completed it I now have the exact same issues!!! HELP!

make sure that you have edited all the .php files correctly.
Depending on if your using 3.6.8 or not, it may be that, it works perfectly on my 3.6.2, 3.6.4 and 3.6.5 boards perfectly.

Have you tried the TMS (Template Modification System) plugin? Reduces the install time of this plugin to about 30 seconds. There's an XML file for the "Thread Prefix" templates modifications included in the download.

Hello all,
I have a database with a group of people that change day by day and I would like to make my prefixes with the names of that people dynamically. So, when I add or delete some people this must be updated in my default prefixes too.
I see that the default prefixes are stored in the tables "setting" and "datastore". I delete one prefix in "setting/defaultprefixes", but I don't know how to update this in "datastore/options".
How to do that? is possible?
And another question:
Is possible search by prefix from the original vb search text box (the quick box and the advanced option)? for now if I put the prefix here manually and don't show any result.
thanks in advance

Applying the Template Modification System XML worked perfect for me. Install was 30 seconds.
Since the add-on Change prefixes inline (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=144982) totally wrecks inline moderation (since July 3) for vb 3.7pl1 and 3.6.8, and since this add-on is so vital, can you please consider adding this functionality to your hack? I gave you this info by PM as well, but as it may be handy to others, I'll repost it:
I have installed this add/on 2 times. The first time something went wrong, I broke my vbulletin and my site was down for some time. I did find a solution for this, that works very quick, easy and safe:
1. If you are not on vbulletin 3.6.8, then upgrade now.
2. Edit the .php files according to the instructions in prefixinstall.php
3. Upload the .php files
4. Install the Template Modification System (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=152931) ( easy to do and you'll be very happy with it)
5. Instead of going using the thread prefix its 'prefixinstall.php' further than step 1, use the Template Modification System instead: simply upload the templateedits-threadprefix.xml that you will find in the demo folder of the Template Modification System's zip.
That's it. Instead of 30 minutes installation time, you will now have it installed in 30 seconds. (not counting the short installation of the TMS)

First, thanks a lot for making this mod. It will really help me a lot.
However when installing on a vB 3.6.7 your installation guide isn't 100% correct. I think it was for editpost, new thread and such templates where I'll have to search for some string containing an input for the title. For these inputs you have specified a value for maxlength of the inputs, while my default templates has specified a variable instead, so I'm able to change this trough my vBulletin Options.
Also, is it possible to add so that users can choose multiple prefixes for a thread? This would make your mod even better :D

Bigfoot

I have exactly the same problem, on 3.6.4 (patched) and I can't find a solution to solve it (I double check my templates edits..)
Thanks!

Ciao Stefano
Sembra che nel template non ci sia la stringa per quel link. Ti riporto le modifiche del template da fare per aggiungere quel link tra gli admin tools.
in FORUMDISPLAY
trova:
<if condition="$show['post_new_announcement']">
<div><label for="fa_pan"><input type="radio" name="do" id="fa_pan" value="postannouncement" />$vbphrase[post_new_announcement]</label></div>

<if condition="$foruminfo['allowprefix']">
<div><label for="fa_cat"><input type="radio" name="do" id="fa_cat" value="manageprefix" />$vbphrase[manage_threadprefix]</label></div>
</if>
poi trova:
<if condition="$show['post_new_announcement']">
<option value="postannouncement">$vbphrase[post_new_announcement]</option>
</if>sotto aggiungi:
<if condition="$foruminfo['allowprefix']">
<option value="manageprefix">$vbphrase[manage_threadprefix]</option>

In the display options drop down for prefixes, there is no option to display threads without a prefix. Having this option can be very handy for applying prefixes to forums. Can you please add this?
When searching the total forum for threads with a certain prefix, the search engines does not allow for a search on thread prefix only.
When searching for a term + thread prefix, then the outcome is just for the term and includes threads with other or no thread prefixes.

It would be nice if this would be possible:
prefixes by usergrouppermissions
like: usergroup admin get prefix admin
no other groups see it then admin
so i can make a thread, set the prefix admin and finish
now all the groups, who have permissions to this prefix can see the thread

I have been using this MOD for many versions now. The latest is 3.6.8 PL1
Unfortunately, it does not seem to work. There is no option to mange prefix's under the forum tools drop down and... no prefixes in the newthread function.
... update
I found an area in SHOWTHREAD that is easy to miss with certain themes(styles)
For anyone missing the "Manage Thread Prefixes" under the Forum Tools drop down menu, carefully look over the following template edit. In my own case, it was placed in the wrong location thus causing it to appear as not working.
<if condition="$foruminfo['allowprefix']">
<div><label for="fa_cat"><input type="radio" name="do" id="fa_cat" value="manageprefix" />$vbphrase[manage_threadprefix]</label></div>
</if>
To confirm the obvious, this MOD works(tested) with 3.6.8 PL1

Hi,
transfer shouldn`t be too hard. I just checked the products code and only 6 fields are added to 3 different tables:
$db->query_write("ALTER TABLE " . TABLE_PREFIX . "thread ADD threadprefix varchar(100)");
$db->query_write("ALTER TABLE " . TABLE_PREFIX . "forum ADD threadprefix MEDIUMTEXT NOT NULL");
$db->query_write("ALTER TABLE " . TABLE_PREFIX . "forum ADD lastthreadprefix varchar(100) NOT NULL AFTER lastthread");
$db->query_write("ALTER TABLE " . TABLE_PREFIX . "forum ADD allowprefix SMALLINT(5) NOT NULL DEFAULT '1'");
$db->query_write("ALTER TABLE " . TABLE_PREFIX . "forum ADD prefixrequired SMALLINT(5) NOT NULL DEFAULT '1'");
$db->query_write("ALTER TABLE " . TABLE_PREFIX . "tachyforumpost ADD lastthreadprefix varchar(100) NOT NULL AFTER lastthread");
I`m not that good at coding but I`d try to make a transfer script if nobody else would do it. I`d also donate some money if someone offers to code it.

Hello, when i first installed, I didn't modify all the templates. Now I switch to an other template and find it very difficult to modify the new template to be compatible with "Thread Prefix".
Is there any stand-alone guide to modify the templates ?
If I use the php install file there will be some mistaken as codes in this php file have some odd characters like "/" .
Thanks anybody that help :)

You can use the template modification plug in, which makes it real easy, but even easier is wait for vb 3.7 which has thread prefixes included. It should be released very soon.

This question has been asked over at the vB forum and no one from vB has volunteered and answer, and Mystics is shown in ACP as a contributor to the official vB package. :confused:

There is quite a bit of work to be done. The way TP stores the prefixes is very simple, but vb does it differently, in a proper database kind of way.
If someone is good at SQL it is all quite possible though. Needs about 4 or 5 steps. Any SQL experts out there?

Okay, looking at the database in phpMyAdmin, it looks doable, save for a few things I don't know:
I can't find where the TP prefixes are stored.
I can't find the relationship between a post and a native thread prefix. It is not in the "post" table.
If anyone can answer these, I could most likely whip up a PHP script.

^ Moment of stupidity. It's all in the "thread" table. Will see what I can whip up. :D

Mwahaha! I've done it. ;) Easy peasy. I'll post some code here - I'm not really one for writing scripts for other people (with the random problems people run into), but this should assist someone else (I've used the ezSQL class here):
<?php
include_once("db.php");
$threads = $db->get_results("SELECT threadid, threadprefix FROM thread");
foreach ($threads as $thread) {
if ($thread->threadprefix) {
$db->query("UPDATE thread SET prefixid = '" . strtolower($thread->threadprefix) . "' WHERE threadid = $thread->threadid");
}
print "Done threadid: {$thread->threadid}<br />";
}
?>
What I've done is pre-created the native thread prefixes matching the ones I currently use.

What I've done is pre-created the native thread prefixes matching the ones I currently use.
If only it were that easy (it doesn't work!!).
For each old forum that had prefixes, you need a new prefixset.
Table: prefixset
prefixsetid, varchar(25), for example if we are reading forumid 14, import14
displayorder, int(10)
The prefixset title needs to be inserted into the phrase table:
Table: phrase
languageid: 0
fieldname: prefix
product= vbulletin
text = prefix set title (eg "imported from forum 14, Off topic")
varname: prefixset_xx_title
where xx = prefixsetid eg prefixset_import14_title
This prefixsetid has to be assigned to the forum number:
Table: forumprefixset
forumid, int(10), eg 14
prefixsetid, varchar(25)
In each prefixset, the individual prefix ids are inserted:
Table: prefix
prefixid, varchar(25), no spaces! so maybe forumid like 14_001 then 14_002 etc. If you had 10 prefixes in forum 14, then we need 10 prefixids.
prefixsetid, varchar(25), from above
displayorder, int(10)
Each prefixid needs the prefix text read from the original thread prefix list for the forum inserted into 2 fields (title plain text and rich text). These are stored in the phrase table:
languageid: 0
fieldname: global
product= vbulletin
text = the old thread prefix text
varname: prefix_xx_yy
where
xx = prefixid
yy = title_rich or title_plain
eg prefix_import14_title_plain
Then each thread in the forum with a prefix from the old system has the corresponding new prefixid inserted into it:
Table: thread
prefixid, varchar(25)
The only bit I'm not sure about is:
Table: forum
lastprefixid, varchar(25)
Repeat for all forums.
Optionally transfer forum settings from old to new (mandatory thread prefix etc, but this can easily be done manually).
Finally, you have to rebuild languages.
Right, there's the challenge!

Dude, it was real easy for me. All of my thread prefixes have been transfered over. All I did was create my old prefixes in 3.7 admincp, the prefixids matched my old prefixes.
Pottsy
12-20-2007, 04:17 AM
I see what you've done. It works, so long as your existing prefixes have no spaces in, and you only have one "set" of prefixes. My different forum id's all have different sets, and I have spaces in my old prefixes. :(
Hoffi
12-20-2007, 09:49 AM
The Spaces can not be a big Problem. With only one Query you can turn all Spaces to Underscore that can be used in the native Prefix Mod.
It's just the Problem to create hundreds of Prefix-Sets by Hand.

One Maybe Bug:
When Searching with the Full Search Form, when including a Text, and choosing a Prefix, the search results are for all the threads in the specified forum, not all the threads that include the Prefix AND the included text!! :( :confused:
I think the logic should be that the results show Only the threads that have Both options, the search text and the Prefix!! :rolleyes: :confused:
(Is there an additional Option I should select in order to Get the Filtered results that match Both Options?? :confused:)
When Searching Only for a Prefix, and not including a search text, I receive an Error message to Include a search Text; would be Great that I can include a Prefix and search in all the Forums I like the Threads that are using that Prefix!! :rolleyes: :confused: (Is this a Bug Too?? :( :confused:)
In the Thread List of each Forum, the Filter of Threads that have a Prefix works OK!! ;)
I'm using vB 3.6.7 PL1, and seems to work Fine!! ;)
My Best Regards!! ;)

Nope... I've tried it again and same Wrong Results!! :( :confused:
I'm running it in vB 3.6.7 PL1; perhaps is an incompatibility with some other Mod I've installed, or is some Bug in the Code!! :( :confused:
Idea for Next Update: Would be Great, at least for Forums, to be able to Massive Assing Prefixes of those Individual Forums (one by one because Prefixes are Individual Per Forum) to the Selected Threads, (like when you Move, Copy, Open, Close, Thread from the List of Threads in a Forum), so that Assigning the Prefixes would be Fast!! :confused: :rolleyes:

Hello.
Question 1: Do I have to set some specific Options (Settings) for the "Full Search" Form to allow me to Search for a Prefix without specifying a Search Text?? When try to Search only for a Prefix without introducing a Search Tex, vBulletin return a Search Error Page asking for that Field to be Filled!! :confused: :(
Question 2: Do I have to set some specific Options (Settings) for the Search Results to be only the Particular Prefix Results?? Hello,
I miss the file edit instruction for archive pages, could anyone tell me how to display the thread prefix in the archived view of threads?
Thanks.
I so wish Mystics would update this mod for 3.7.0, even though an 'official' version is included in the standard software. The official version is very disappointing, and Mystics' mod features are far more user-friendly and flexible. I can't believe how few features vB's prefixes offer. Since Mystics received credit I don't understand why they didn't actually use more of his influence.
The most important things that are missing:
- Ability to add/edit prefixes from within the Forum Tools dropdown.
- Easy forum-by-forum prefix editing thanks to the above feature
- Ability for moderators to add/edit prefixes.
- Easy sorting while editing (alpha or other)
In addition, I think the 3.7.0 admincp prefix editing options are clunky. Why do we have to add our own ID numbers for each new prefix and create sets and so on? I just want to create my lovely prefixes on a forum-by-forum basis and end things there, as before. :(

I may hold off a bit on upgrading my vB *because* I prefer this mod over the vB 'official' version....... and the prefixing as it is *now* with this mod suits our purposes to a 't'.

Ok think I found the problem....it didn't let me use any prefixes with "&" in them anymore.

I have seen some sites using images for the prefixes in place of the text. Has anyone seen this and know how it's done?
I know of a site that is using images instead of text but I can't get the administrator to tell me how he coded it or if he used an additional mod to accomplish it.
I don't understand how a coder can create such a great mod but not be able or willing to ad such a awesome feature like we are requesting.
Are there any coders out there that could help folks like me in getting the text replaced with images?
It would be really nice. I spent quite some time installing this mod and would like to use it with images.....

I have found away to place an image next to the prefix by adding the following code in the Prefix HTML Markup (within forums) box:
<img src="http://yourdomain.com/motd/steam.png" alt="Steam Updates" />
The problem now is that all my prefixes no matter what I name them will have the same image next to the title?
It also displays the alt description "Steam Updates" next to the title which I want to remove so only the image appears.
My goal is to create various images for each forum based on the type of thread. When an allowed user selects a prefix from the drop down menu, an image only will appear next to the title of their post.
I'm sorry if I didn't explain this before in more detail but it's getting very fustrating and I know of at least one site that has exactly what I'm referring to.
Can someone please help me with this. I have spent many, many hours attmpting to accomplish this task but I keep coming up short.
Anyone's assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

I have just installed this (in fact i have gone over it a few times now) and I cannot see anything different. Where is the prefix? I have gone over it three times and I don?t appear to have missed anything out.
My forum: www.goldenbunnies.org.uk
Can anyone tell me what the problem might be.

3.8.x has its own prefix implementation.

3.8.x has its own prefix implementation.
I'm not aware that Vbulletin has a feature like this.
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2009/04/7.png
I want to add tags to the title like this.
Does this plugin provides that?

NEED HELP PLEASE! I have installed it, but me, nor my moderators, can access threadprefix.php! can someone please help me?
Is there any way to create a permanent link to the results of a Prefix Search?
The XML for the prefix search functionality uses some kind of override on a User Search when a certain string is present to search for prefixes instead. If you just input the string manually, though, (like via a do=process search to make a permanent link!) it seems to fail to execute the override correctly and returns search results of every single thread on your forum.
This has an added debilitating side effect of creating a broken searchid result, and then when you try to search for your Prefixes the proper way (through the dropdown box) it doesn't make it to the override because it sees the search has already been done recently and pulls up the result with every thread on your forum.
I don't have the slightest clue about editting any of the XML or anything, but it's starting to seem like creating a permanent do=process link to Prefix Search results isn't possible with how it's currently written.
